- This is the 1993 PBA $200,000 IOF Foresters Open "Bowling for Miracles" Open at Club 300 Bowl in Markham, Ontario (April 13-17, 1993). This was a "King of the Hill" format. The winner of the IOF Foresters Open will bowl Del Ballard Jr., Richardson, Texas to see who will be the King of the Hill. Stepladder finalists are Brad Snell, Elk Grove, Illinois; Mike Aulby, Indianapolis, Indiana; Bob Vespi, Coral Springs, Florida and Pete Weber, St. Ann, Missouri. Chris Schenkel and Nelson Burton Jr are the commentators for this ESPN broadcast of the Pro Bowlers Tour.
What a great piece of history to see the video of Chris Shenkel receiving his Emmy lifetime achievement award for 50 years of broadcasting! One of the greatest broadcasters in history and a fine gentleman more importantly!
This was one of the first bowling events I watched on ABC Sports and it made me a bowling fan for life. Thanks for the upload.
I finished 24th at this stop. I remember using a AMF Ninja.

1993 was still the 80s confirmed.
“He’ll cut the hook down on the spare…right” 😅
43:01 Columbia 300 Power Torq ball, it was my fav ball back in the day (besides the red pearl urethane Hammer), I won a ton of jackpots with this ball... The commercial was trying to say it was better than the AMF Ninja (in a little racist way IMO), the Hammer, and the Rhino Pro balls (Columbia's own product!)
With the powerful balls and synthetic lanes I have left the 8 10 split 4 times from the left side. I am sure was rare when Aulby left it in his match with Vespy.
I started bowling in 1999 and my first reactive resin ball was the teal Rhyno. You mean to tell me I was throwing a ball that was almost a decade old???
Snell would have possibly won a tournament if he didn’t throw a spinner
They really didn't understand ball motion back then the way they do now
At 27:27 Bo Burton talks about a "Varapapa 300", the guy that he is referring to is in the commercial at 42:07 shooting a trick shot picking up the 4-6-7-10 with 2 bowling balls
Curse of the Announcer, however ! :(
That’s not a varipapa 300…
Varapapa 300 is a combined 12 in a row over 2 games
1:20:38 He did it!
1:20:38 Reenacting that 1991 event!
He did it! - Chris Schenkel
Had I gotten training from Pete Weber I would have been just as good as him if not better! I have a very similar delivery, same available power too. Today the sport has changed so dramatically from the 70's-80's. I am regretful of having given up on this sport way back when. That's life.
Sure, Jan.

I hated when they went to the king of the hill format, it was anti climatic as you can see Weber didn't care about losing that match because he already won the title. And Weber hates to lose. Kim's a doll.
Are those resin balls?
Vespi Aulby and snell threw resin. Weber and Ballard are using urethane.
Bowling died when Jeremy Sonnenfeld shot 900 Anyone remember him?
I actually met him once. Im from Nebraska as he is. I bowled in sun valley lanes, the house he shot that 900. I was doing a college tryout, he was at one of the end pairs. Biggest dickhead I’ve ever met in my life.

The mullet is still alive and still looks bad
I love how Bo spoke about how if Pete changed his shot, he'd carry that 10 pin. Bo may be a great commentator and may have won a few but he definitely ain't no Pete Weber. And i absolutely detest Pete Weber.
I met him in Dublin, CA for at a junior all-star banquet in 2004. He's a lot nicer in person.
del ballard king just like TRUMP!
Kim was hot...
