What is all the community obsession with Destiny 3? Bungie's original vision wasn't for Destiny 1 but for Destiny, for it to be an MMO-style single game with continuous updates both content-wise and engine-wise. It was Activision that required a trilogy, and when Bungie split from Activision, they totally abandoned the planned third game. Bungie has put so much effort into making Destiny 2 an evolving platform, what with the huge backend overhauls they did with Beyond Light, and continued huge backend overhauls to numerous systems, as well as the new progression systems, all the LFG infrastructure, etc...
If you notice, there is technically more content in the game than there was in Shadowkeep, if you consider the size of the destinations, the new raids, and all the seasonal content, as well as all the returned D1 and D2 content, and Dares of Eternity, etc... and yet the file size is the same at around 120gb.
I don't think they'd abandon that just so they can slap a 3 on the end and get another box release. Destiny 2 is here to stay.

Dude everything there sounds absolutely amazing makes me think of the Forsaken year and been honest these looks so much better than anything we have gotten so far as seasons.
I mean, I solo legendary all 3 characters and have all but 2 fragments currently all omo…. Yet easy as the enemies were, the mechanics were truly something new and interesting, always there to stop me and slow me down enough to look around and appreciate the effort and the talent of the world built for our entertainment and the company’s profit….
Gotta say, they definitely cooked, the new enemies feel like I’m fighting covenant from halo.

Bungie set the bar so low over the last 4 years that anything they release seems good. This DLC is mid at best.
Very true. The raid was great but everything else kind of fell flat. I cant even remember a good story beat other than what happened in the last mission. The entire story essentially felt like padding.
