@jidlomonster Interesting, I was thinking of mentioning the older reprint thing in the video but decided at the last moment not to. I think there are three points to this. 1. yes the models are better, set 8 is my favourite set as far as models go. 2. they however look 10-20 years before their time (1970's). The 1970's models had more up to date designs. 3. They are slightly more difficult to build because the diagrams aren't so detailed, I found the double deck bus quite difficult.
Hi Brian I am trying to build the side tipping lorry but struggling with the mech. In your video you dont show the other side of the lorry showing the exact mechanism Would you kindly add a little video close up of this side of the truck. It will be much appreciated Thank you
Hi I'm trying to build the bus at the moment, but the right front wheel is fouling on the sector plate behind the driver , any tips ? I'm sure I've built it correctly so far, I've double checked enough times. Cheers
No. All I can remember are the wheel arches snagging, not the flanged sector plate. If you haven't built the sides of the bus yet, I would wait until you can bolt to the frame at 'E'. If that doesn't line up, you've got something wrong.
@@MECCNUTTY solved the problem with the steering, I reduced the front track very slightly by putting the spacers outside the wheel rather than inside and the front right now clears the sector plate.
@trollmuncher Sounds like a Meccano set 10 or maybe 9. You could try ebay, or there's the meccanoman com website (dave taylor). He will often take meccano in resonable condition. Otherwise Mike Rhoades on 01482 650463.
The hook cage as you call it is known as a crab, particularly in traditional Meccano terminology

@newspaniard I think I found it on the meccanoindex site. I look forward to seeing it built.
