  • I brought my camcorder to this game and I'm glad I did. Baltimore fans desperately wanted a professional football team and after missing out on NFL Expansion in '93 the CFL awarded Baltimore an expansion team for the '94 season and Baltimore fans embraced it.
The game: Winnipeg Blue Bombers (12-4) v. Baltimore CFLs (11-5)
    The site: Memorial Stadium, Baltimore.
The date: Saturday, October 29, 1994.
Baltimore lost its nickname, from a court ruling, and went by the name "CFLs" prior to becoming the "Stallions" in 1995.
Baltimore defeated Winnipeg 57-10 and made it all the way to the Grey Cup Championship, only to lose 26-23 to British Columbia. The following year they returned and this time defeated Doug Flutie and the Calgary Stampeders 37-20.

Great video Brian, the wonderful Memorial Stadium and a shame we can't go back in time and meet up at Raven game tailgates again! Really appreciated your friendship! I was probably at this game but darned if I can remember now and hard to believe that's been almost 30 years now!

Thanks Carl, glad you like it. At the time I thought this was the only team Baltimore was going to have. I miss Gary and Mark's tailgates, I know they had to put out a lot of money to do those every home game. Do you care if I run your DVD (in two parts) from your trip with me in FEB 2002? You had a head end pass so it will be okay but I still have to ask for your permission.
