I would love to see the Steelers run a double wide set with Claypool out wide with Austin on the inside with Pickens out wide and Johnson inside on the opposite side ! Both Claypool and Pickens is 6’3 200+ strong combative Receivers who also run 4.4 so they both got the speed to take the top off from the outside! Then you would have Johnson and Austin on the inside who both are great after the catch YAC receivers who are quick and shifty with Johnson already established as a ProBowl receiver and a 1st AllPro kick returner so you know his open field abilities are crazy , then you got Austin who runs a 4.32 and ran a Un-official 4.02 40 Sheeesh That offense would be exposing especially with Rookie ProBowl RB Najee Harris entering his second year ! TE Pat Muth probably a Top5 best young talents at the TE position in the NFL , also #1 QB taken in this past draft Kenny Pickett ! The Steelers skill position might be the deepest set of offensive skill set talent in all the NFL ! We gotta see what the Offensive line looks like this year tho 💯
I am here on 9/27 and I can say that our OL although improving needs work. Our OC needs to be fired and I dont agree with putting Kenny in just yet. We are still dropping passes (DJ) on big plays and its not entirely MT's fault. Give him decent plays to run and he can connect with who's our there now. If TJ didnt go down (is he gonna do that every season?) in the first game we might be 3-0. We have missed tackles in the open field our middle line back play is up and down our corners are shit and we can NEVER stop the run (see Nick Chubb). After the jets (which we may lose to because we play down to our competition but maybe its playing UP this year?)we have a nightmare of a run but we do better as underdogs than favored so who knows......It would be nice to have Austin in there but not like this....lets go for high draft picks and get an o line and maybe a corner or two --stop drafting WR in later rounds--yes we are the best at it but lets shore up protection for KP and find some guys to stop the run and beef up our secondary
