Derya Göktas Not every celebrity started flying private that early. Most of those who fly private now have only been doing so for the last few years (Like around 2010 and later). He's probably one of those celebs. And if he looked nervous to you flying commercial back then, then that's all the answer you need as to why he started flying private.
