Unlike shown here Ahmed didn't marry modem a day before his death but he married Kosem in 1605, 12 years before Ahmed's death. They both were about 15 years old at the time.

It’s a nikah not a wedding. The nikah the actual marriage taking place (as in the wedding contract is signed etc) mean while the wedding is the celebration and it can happen after the nikah ceremony
