Subaru 360 looks actually really cute. Just smaller VW beetle.
@TeaCup //
EXACTLY, so VW Bug. Again, the Japanese are copy cats.
that’s what i’m saying it’s adorable
@@blankface1545 //
Sure. It is a VW like,
"Kei" car, a nice one.
I really liked it.
he his wrong because right know world is talking about bmw for been ugly
Allard P2 Safari actually looks cool and definitely unique.
I personally like the 360. it's got mini & beetle vibes without really looking like either and still looks cool.
It has round headlights witch looks like eyes and curved hood that looks like a smile
I'm too. Looks like VW Beetle and Mini. I think, it's pretty car.
i think its cute
@nerflapp i agree, methinks its quirkiness would appeal to markets today, my pick of the bunch . The P2 Safari, truly for sure a terrible vehicle that looks like it was designed by a woman imo.
Yeah, I thought it was a decent looking car
The Alfa Romeo SZ is superb and a pleasure to drive. It's a car that doesn't belong on your list.
I was thinking that it's so harsh for the Alfa to be there. I would take that Alfa in a heartbeat no questions asked
Same here. Now I have to admit it's kinda ugly objectively, the proportions and volumes... But beautiful subjectively. Ugly beautiful. It's one of my favourite cars ever. I think it looks amazing and unique.
7:25 the Lagonda is awesome, as its sleek lines minimize its huge size. Total 80s style ahead of its 70s release, and beautiful in the arena of cars with long wheel overhang. You should remove the Lagonda from this.
Totally agree, this car not deserves stay here, blasphemous!
@@jordiperez2519 The Lagonda is a work of art. How did it make this list?
Amen!
Agree!
The rear windows couldn't be lowered.
The Fiat Multipla (not Multiplay) was a car made by Fiat. Fiat are Italian, not French.
I actually think the allard p2 was cool for its time. I would liken it to being as to the jaguar as the nomad was to the bel air or chevelles they were based on. kinda cool in a quirky way.
I love how this Channel's idea of a good-looking car is by default a sports car.
The Aston Martin Lagonda is not ugly . A lot of the 1970's American cars are actually uglier than many of the cars in this video.
Totally agree. Btw the 70s were the worst era design wise. Sure there are a few standouts but dang ..
The Allard was custom built per customer.......and it was a ‘shooting brake’.
Her late Majesty the Queen owned many "shooting breaks" her last being on based on 1958 Ford Zephyr. At one time, estate cars/station wagons were known in the UK as, Shooting breaks. I agree that this one is more than ugly but them Allard were on the way out by then
@@henrygingold6549 - Shooting BRAKE... AND "Estate car" sounds MUCH better than the God-Awful "Shooting Brake"! Who dragged that name up from Hell, anyway? It makes NO sense whatsoever. At least "station wagon" was a literal wagon that was sent by hotels to pick up/drop off guests at the local railway station.
I like it too. It certainly has no place in this video.
A "break" is the name given to utility vehicles that take "shooters" ie., hunters of little birds and other innocent fauna. Of course the average person would not have seen these cars as utilitarian because they were almost always built on top of Daimlers, Rolls-Royces etc..@@daveogarf In the UK station wagons are called, "estate cars" which is more or less the same as shooting break!
@@alan6832It was badass, wasn't it?
I know this is a 'subjective' list at best, but anyone who mispronounces so many names in such a short period of time (12.48) cannot be an arbiter of good taste.
I couldn't agree more.
it's a generated voice-over, not an actual person. This is why it goofs.
Well you managed to pronounce three of those car names correctly. 😆
My thoughts exactly 😅
@@jono.pom-downunder mine too!
Yeah, he's an idiot.
Not quite. First encounter with the Alfa,,,it's row-mayo,.
I'm pretty sure the channel pays someone else to do the narration...someone who's not a car guy.
also i love the Alfa SZ styling
You forgot the Sangyong, any model truly hideous.
BMW mostly looked good before they were Bangled,
The grill nowadays should be reduced at least by 4.
Good Comment Simon!! The Ssangyong Rodius is really ugly. The Rexton... well... I'd say it has a "quirky style". And some new BMW designs make Bangle's timeless.
Ssangyoung Rodius is the absolute worst of them all!
It's like a hatchback with a dormer attached to it.
The Rodius?
@@angelperez7891 yes
Sorry to say, I love a number of these unique vehicles!!!!!!!
Yeah, this isn't a good list.
Hey, i'm curious which cars you love.
No American , made, voiced, written, produced or narrated should exist while the thoughts and sights of the Pontiac Aztek and numerous others American abominations are in the public's memory. Please note that the Ami 6 clip features a Ford Anglia ("Angle box") for comparison
(*American-made)
@@daveogarf Not only American made; American designed.
I think the Citroen is a cool design
You do know how many classic and good looking American cars have been made right? and their companies still exist. Unlike the English ones.
The first time I saw an Aztek I thought it looked funny without a machine gun mounted in a turret on top.
Nissan Cube-maybe. Nissan Juke- definitely!
I have nothing to say... you're right
Nissan's, properly spelled; Joke or Puke
Agreed, the Nissan Puke is terrible.
Bro calling the Lagonda ugly💀
I saw an Ami 6 on the Dutch highway recently. That very, very rarely happens. And yes, it drove along, it wasn't on the hard shoulder with its hood up. I do forgive it it's unique visual quirkyness, as no classic Citroën should ever be called ugly. Don't make me angry. 🙃
No one is angry here
Imagine thinking that Alfa Romeo is ugly, bizarre
The Allard is so weird that it's almost cute. I remember seeing mid-60's Fiat Multipla's in Rome when I was a teenager and back then it was quite handsome compared to the modern version. Fiat went for the maximum passenger capacity and they were used as taxis where the driver could fit in five passengers. The 1958 Lincoln must have been the inspiration for the Citroen AMI. BMW has been building some ugly grilles lately...I understand that the enlargement was a demand from the Chinese market. That SIN car is a sin.
The strangest thing about the Allard was the extreme forward location of the front wheels. I wonder what kind of suspension it had; before the 1930s, they located the wheels that way so the rigid front axle wouldn't hit the engine.
your jokes make watching this hard. 1 joke is enough for each car.
The Lagonda looks quite nice now... Obviously not a DB6 but of its time...
Ugly is a subjective term.. but there's no subjectivity to the hideousness of the Pontiac Aztek lol
The Mitsuoka Galue is a series of luxury cars, BASED on mainstream Japanese automobiles, customized by Mitsuoka to recall British and American cars, now in its second generation. THEY ARE STILL IN PRODUCTION.
IMO, there was NO intention for anything BUT AN ASIAN MARKET. Again, they are a flattery to US & British design cues !!!
The Alfa SZ is a stunning beauty!
How dare you include the Alfa sz that car is a true beast
9:18 I never saw the '92 Skylark as particularly offensive or even that unusual for a 1990s car. The pointed nose was kind of a throwback to the 1930s and uncharacteristic of post-war Buicks, but it didn't bother me. The proportions of the car were no more awkward than those of other modern cars, most of which are a bit stubby now that powertrains can be shoehorned sideways into the engine compartments. The Aztec is far more notable than the Skylark, and in all the wrong ways.
The 4 door Skylark comes off better, and the Aztek isn't at all unattractive by today's standards. It was just unusual for its time.
1976 Lagonda is a masterpiece
4:32 Even the French?
The Multipla is Italian...😊
Kind of weird how the voice will pronounce some of the car names correctly, then a few seconds later say them incorrectly. Mutipla.Multiplay, Alfa Romeo/Romio.
The marketing for the Subaru 360 was brilliant, imported by Malcolm Bricklin. They were killed off when Consumer Reports rated the car "not acceptable".
Is the narrator a robot?
AI generated narration.
Nothing wrong with Subaru 360, besides VW cues.
Without watching, I'll wager the Aztec will included.
At the end of the day, styling is a matter of opinion that is unique to everyone, and you can like any car because it's about you.
Unless you like the Pontiac Aztek
The Aztek is quite likeable compared to modern SUV's and crossovers.
@@co7013 You are probably definitely right
I like how you put in the bmw 7 series and not the juke in person the bmw does not look as bad imo xD
I like 5 of them, Allard, Fiat, Aston, Citroen and Alfa.
The list should’ve included the Land Rover Discovery 5.
Aesthetics are at the eyes of the beholders.... I am surprised that PT cruiser is not here... but this is based on my eyes!
Completely disagree with your choice of Buick Skylark, it looks good especially in coupe form
I think the P2 looked pretty good.
You need to do some research regarding the reason why Allard, along with other British car makers in the late 1940s ans early 1950s built a variety of 'woodies'. It was all down to lack of materials and taxation.....
Anyone who thinks the Allard Safari is anything but a stunning car shouldn't be making car videos.
@@John-G Totally agree.
The SsangYong Rhodius should have definitely made the list.
They missed the boat. There are more ugly cars than some of these
Aston Martin Lagonda! Are you mental? They are gorgeous!
The electronics and the displays were extremely unreliable. They certainly are beautiful cars especially the Mark II which had more rounded wings and better interior. Some even had normal analogue dials. Don't ever think of driving one into a multi-storey car park . You'll get stuck
Edsel was a make of car and a new car making division introduced by the Ford Motor Company on September 4, 1957. The company called that day, "E-Day." It was named after Henry Ford's son, Edsel Ford. The Edsel was also one of the biggest failures in history.
Oh you know it's ugly when the French actually think it's ugly lol... on a side note I hate that BMW grill it absolutely doesn't belong on an electric vehicle. I am dying laughing at the descriptions of some of these 😅
In contrast to Cadilliac Cimarron, the closely related Holden Camira J car sold well in Australia. Its main issues were: build quality, then changing from leaded to unleaded petrol (downgrade from multi-point to single-point fuel injection in 1986 models).
The 1976 Aston Martin
Lagonda was PROBABLY a response to the Maserati Quattroporte. The Design is not Timeless, not Horrible either. Looks like it took some American or Mercedes design cues.
I have changed my mind on the ASTON MARTIN LAGONDA.
I think it is swell. I think it is a supersonic 1989 Volvo 740.
(1) Sleek anti-Bentley, or anti-Jaguar.
(2) Big Engine, Big Interior, Big Trunk, Minature, regal center, faux radiator part of grill.
(3) Gobbledygook, fad, digital instrumentation but still a selling point, & differentiator.
(4) NO. It is not an MG, Triumph, or Lotus. Lagonda is something you would NOT throw into a curve.
(5) Lord of the Manor, P-mpin' ride. Very Stately. Face it, you would get POSITIVE notice (or envy). Bee-atch to park.
I never found the Aztec ugly, not even today. It was the Cybertruck of its time.
O Multipla é feio, mas é único na sua essência.
New BMW's are absolutely horrible, what were they thinking
Maybe I just have bad taste but there were several that I liked, that funky wagon was my favorite
Remember that taste is subjective. For example, many people don't like the Renault Avantime, but for me it has an interesting style.
Thanks for comment!
Lagonda looks amazing
I believe that they were incredibly unreliable and nearly impossible to maintain (electronics of the period...)
The galleon of my youth...
Half of these are genuinely beautiful cars
That last car is a bad acid trip with wheels.
Rumor has it that the 2024 BMW i7 will consist entirely of the radiator grill.
If they did that would be tragic... but the buyers seem to love it😨
If I was in charge of hiring car designers, my test would be to draw a redesigned Pontiac Aztek that takes conspicuous cues from the original, but is somehow attractive.
Buick Skylark, when you absolutely positively don't want pedestrians to stand up anymore!
I freaking love the Allard, that thing is fantastic. Like in Harold and Maude when he turns the E-Type into a hearse.
The Subaru is adorable. Like a seriously ugly baby.
I agree the rest are all visually offensive even if some are cool.
I saw the title and just dropped by to make sure the Multipla was in there. An absolute abomination. Good work.
Lagonda is a beauty!
the Ami 6 is actually a pretty beautyful car
Some video covered the Pontiac Aztec's in-depth ORIGINAL INTENT. It was TO BE a beefy hp, off-road capable, expanded interior (sedan, station wagon hybrid) Chevy Nova like vehicle for Pontiac. Instead, it became this meat cleaver angled, mild minivan / multipurpose vehicle jump in direction. And indeed UGLY.
The video is an exageration ! The cars presented aren't the most beautiful cars, but I've seen uglier cars than some of this cars. After all we are all diferent & is all about the taste.
No...many things are objectively ugly. And anyone who likes them should not be trusted.
mohs ostentatienne opera sedan - THIS IS HARDCORE!
uuhhhhh!!! great name That car is on another level (of ugliness)
Greetings from Tucson, Arizona USofA.
The LaGonda was the most expensive car of it's time.
I think the 360 resembles the original Fiat 500.
To my mind the Nissan Leaf is a shocker. Some of your choices look good compared.
I agree about the leaf. Many aesthetically-challenged mass produced cars seem to get off lightly from design criticism Many Japanese /Korean cars nowadays seem to be a mass of angles, diagonals and styling quirks which will in the long term render them obsolete. (I have a 2018 Suzuki😅)
Your narration was/is very comical and entertaining 👍
Ai generated.
The Beemer grill was upsized to sell in China. They want big grills to advertise their wealth. Most of these cars aren’t particularly ugly. Except for the Pontiac Aztec and the Fiat Mulitpla. Oh, and the Sin.
Every time I see a new BMW grille, it reminds me of a baboon's ass...
@@ccrider77 Thank you for giving words to what was bothering me about them! A very fitting description. My last was an E34 with the nicely proportioned grill but the new ones are clownish. 👍🏻
subaru 360 is just a smaller and cuter Beetle
bmw went from Cool Kidneys to Podgy Pigsnout in less than a decade...the crap they present these days makes even the chris bangle era cars look sleek and elegant
This is like the coolest cars ever made
Well, that could be another way of looking at it...
Shut your piehole!
You philistine!
That Subaru 360 looks like Herbie's special little brother and I love it! And, I imagine many others do as well.
SZ? Really?
With F series, GMC and RAM range?
The S-cargo?
The Cube?
Not even an AU Falcon?
You went with the SZ!
WOW!
Man the commentary on this video is hilarious 😂. I really actually like the BMW 😊.
The Aztek always reminded me of an Aphid. You know, the bug that eats your rose bushes.
The Gremlins were quite awful too 😂
Mitsuoka’s idea was good though. Mix British design with Japanese innovation and reliability.
Ain't no way you just called the Lagonda ugly
Agree with all except the Lagonda which was epic in its Beauty & Style
There are several car designs which are even uglier.
- Nissan Juke (a sick joke)
- AMC Pacer
- AMC Gremlin
- Citroen 2CV
The Mitsuoka looks like a cheap Rolls Royce copy from the front, and like a Cadillac knock-off from the rear. It might have looked quite good if they had made some small changes, especially at the front. Same goes for the Allard - if they had removed the hood, and rearranged all the front lights a little, it could've looked quite good.
Aztek grilles looked like portable CD players.
It's not "design", it's "styling". Calling it design is an insult to the engineers who made the car work.
What's wrong with the Allard ? It was a dam sight better looking than the similar dated Edsel
Grotesque is the right adjective to describe the front grille of the 2022 BMW7 - bring back Chris Bangle any day.
How can you miss the infamous 1996 Ford Taurus? Uglier than anything AMC ever built. Whenever I drive behind one, I expect to see laundry rolling around in the back window. And the front end looks like a giant insect larvae...
Some exotic cars made by companies competing with Ferrari and Lamborghini are about as ugly as a dirt road.
😅 Good coment! Another Mitsuoka model comes to mind... the Orochi
Great vid, I had a good laugh, well written!
Ugly doesn't begin to describe the most recent cars offered. For the past decade, Infiniti went from quirky, yet nice styling to super-mega-fugly! The same, unfortunately, is true with Lexus. I remember when the LS400 was first intro'd back in the early 1990s. The current Lexus models look so fugly, I'd be embarrassed to be seen next to one. The same goes for Infinity. I used to love BMW. Both BMW and Mercedes-Benz. Now, it's just Mercedes-Benz. BMW's front end looks so hideous, I don't know what designers were thinking when they enlarged the grille on some models, but OMFG! It's not just Japanese and Deutsch vehicles, either.
The Subaru 360 is what the VW Beetle would have looked like if Fiat designed it.
That Alfa is beautifull with its Bulldog - like snout and stance !
Any idea why they are so expensive today ?
Every ugly car list has the Fiat Multipa somewhere in the lineup.
I refuse to believe that any car that isn’t a Multipla or Sin S1 is ugly
Best response questions I ever came across when a colleague wanted to sell his Aston Martin Lagonda, "Does it come with oars? How long are they? Will they prevent anyone from overtaking me on the highway?"
😂
I've always thought the Aztec was the ugliest ever made. Then the Tesla truck was invented.
What is the background music?
You know That first car has The same design As a rolls Royce
2008 Mitsuoka Value needs a raise
