- Dodge revolutionizes the Charger, transitioning from iconic Hemi V8 to electrifying performance with a 400 volt, soon-to-be 800 volt Banshee variant, promising muscle power in an EV format. Yet, the legacy of gas-powered glory continues with a turbocharged inline-six, all-wheel drive, embodying American muscle spirit. As Dodge embraces an electric future while honoring combustion excellence, the next-gen Charger redefines muscle car ethos for the modern era, ensuring the legend not only lives but evolves.

Thoughts on this hail mary by Dodge and the new EV and twin turbo 6 Charger?!
Snag the viper shirt I'm wearing! bit.ly/IdealSwag
It's Fine I guess but you know they are getting rid of challenger for good wish they were hybrid because how would an electric car work if you charge it but lose power?
yeah they saved internal combustion engine but they ruined their muscle car fover
They need a hemi
Dodge without Hemi isn’t Dodge. This EV crap is their end
I mean it suits its name
@@rickhunter6513 The Hemis they've already built aren't selling.
I'm with you, Bro. No thanks. That's why I bought a 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 last year.
So many future hemi swaps
I was just saying to my friend that this will have more swaps in it than a nissan S chassis 😅😅😅
😂😂
Remember that Hellephant Charger concept? What if the engine bay is large enough?
@@KHolzer444 perhaps
How much did Dodge pay you to talk positively about this vacuum?
oh god forbid people having a opinion, or should everyone be a "sheeple" forgetting that Dodge cars didn't have a v8, Malaise era say's hello
@@jdproductions6147 right, because muscle car fans are going to buy this trash. 🙄
Exactly, who is the EV Charger for? Who is going to buy this? This was such a screwup by Dodge.
Lmao vacuum 😂😂😂😂😂
@@Marsonpika I had my 2008 Dodge charger for many years and tuned it myself.
The fact that this channel is trying to advocate for this garbage is terrible.
My biggest question is who is this car for? It's early for me since I like big V8s.
I'm a 90-00s car fanboy who falls in love with 307, I prefer old, antique and gas cars more than EV. Efficiency? Reliability? I don't care! I just want some very tasteful aesthetic car that suits me!
Watch the six banger outsell the ev
Definitely will. And I’m sure the EV cost a fk ton in R&D
At 5800 lb curb weight, it will corner like the Queen Mary and with 137mph top speed, it will see the taillights of Hyundai Sonatas and Toyota Camrys ... They should release the gas variants first to save the brand. Releasing the EVs first, will only skittle color the dealer lots for miles and miles.
How often do people drive more than 137? There may be a few idiots that do, but they'll be in jail or the graveyard soon enough.
@@donniechaffin6897 - People do race their Mopars off public streets at sanctioned events.
Nobody is advocating reckless driving here.
@@kbarrett1844 Nobody? Glad I've finally found the one channel with no reckless drivers. I'm sure there are people racing their Mopars at sanctioned events, but it's got to be less than 1 in a hundred. Racers won't save Dodge.
You mean it will corner just like the last one! 😂😂😂
@@donniechaffin6897WTF? Why would you spend that much money on a ridiculously fast car and not drive it fast? If I wasn’t gonna drive my car like a man I would sell it.
55k for a base model DODGE is fucking delusional. You used to be able to get a camaro zl1 for that price.
If this calculator is correct. Adjusted for inflation, $5,000 in 1970 is equal to $40,682 in 2024. Annual inflation over this period was 3.96%.
"Used to"
the Camero is/was a 70 grand car..
@@jdproductions6147 im talking about in 2017 when the economy was booming and the car first came out. $70k is a fully loaded zl1 with the 1le track package. The msrp of a 2017 zl1 started at $62k which is not far off from $55k.
@@Inferno45 far off? that is seven grand more.
Besides you are comparing a 2017 price to 2024.. when if adjusted for inflation the same Camaro would be $76,928. So over $20K more than the new charger
@@jdproductions6147 True but a $25k increase between generations is still a lot. I get they increased the horspower and replaced the v6 and hemi with the Hurricane but now this car isnt gonna be as acessable anymore to a lot of people. and this could be bad buisness for dodge since they only have two vehicles, the Hornet and Durango (which is also getting replaced soon). so the charger was their cash cow and now they will probably sell less of them due to the price increase. This can also be seen with Truck manufacturers struggling to sell their trucks because they overproduced too many trucks and the high prices are driving customers away.
5800Ibs Titanic ain’t going that fast!? Heavier than Model X!
Really? These cars we’re already bad at turning. At the rate they are going next gen charger after this will be harder to turn than modern 18 wheeler and weigh more than the hummer EUV!
Something to consider is the actual compared power to weight ratios between the Chargers
2023 R/T: 370hp, 5300lb, 14.3lb/hp
2024 R/T: 496hp, 5838lb, 11.8lb/hp
2023 SP: 485hp, 5450lb, 11.2lb/hp
2024 SP: 670hp, 5838lb, 8.7lb/hp
2023 Hellcat: 717hp, 4586lb, 6.4lb/hp
2024 Banshee: 807hp, 5850lb, 7.2lb/hp
2023 XLR: 670hp, 5148lb, 7.6lb/hp
2023 XP: 1020hp, 5248lb, 5.1lb/hp
If the car didn't weigh as much as the car community's disappointment it would have a halfway decent power to weight ratio ☠️
For sure. It was already a behemoth. Weighing this much really kills it. Until battery technology advances dramatically so that they don’t have to weigh as much as tanks they will always be inferior to gas vehicles. At the prices they are going to be charging too! Why would anyone want this over a blown mustang which weights 1/3 less or something like a vette that weighs almost half as much?
Forget bad track performance, this thing will be hard to even get to turn at slow speed on public roads.
what this car going to do is raise the prices of the old versions. 🤷♂
If those chargers are out I want to see a Demon Hemi v8 swap
You think that’s gonna take long to happen? Lol
@@TheAceKannon Oh no maybe in 2 years time
This is already DOA. I'll gladly stick with my old charger.
they did the smartest move selling a combustion and ev car not just doing one or the other like many other brands, makes them different
NO V8 NO THX
Tbh, the hemi hurricane inline 6 sounds great lol
I would swap the inline 6 for a hemi
@@WEC_ConnoiseurIt sounded like dogshit down the drag strip
If I get one I’ll put it a actual hellcat crate motor in it
There is no replacement for displacement. Give me a 632ci Chevy!
Going to miss the V8 for sure, but excited to see what that Hurricane 6 brings!
According to the people I know at the Chrysler proving grounds, you won't be impressed.
It's a big heavy 5000 lb car with a V6 and turbos They got a video of it in the Challenger . Running at the drag strip and it sounded horrible
@@KingdoubleO. Straight six.
The Challenger was ICONIC!
Looks like the Hot Wheels "Muscle Tone" toy car.
Its beautiful
I just love "ponies" and "electrified horses". It's soo cute and funny
You made a better commercial than dodge, they should hire you. you made this next-gen charger seem WAayYAyy more interesting than dodge themselves did.
I keep seeing hate for the new Chargers, but me personally, I love the look, and the fact that there are both 2 and 4 door versions as well as gas powered makes me happy.
Besides, what's to stop one from buying a 25 or 26 E-Charger and stuffing a supercharged street hemi and 8 speed in it? No smog requirement.
It will look good sitting in your driveway most of its life. 300 miles a charge, nowhere to charge it on the road. In cold weather, cut the mileage per charge in half. Every seven years, the power plant has to be replaced @ $20,000.00 USD. But it will look cool in your driveway.
The plaid will still smoke it in the quarter mile.
well yeah no shit it weighs as much as a truck, why does everyone compare everything to the tesla plaid?? 😭
Because they turn 9.2-9.4 quarter miles from the jump.@@prodbyscythe
@@LONEWOLF6523-gc3dv what do you mean?
Why does everything have to about a quarter mille??
Yea but both would lose to a moped in any kind of long distance race. Bring back the fabled cannonball run, it would be fun to watch these EV junk get beat by a Yugo by like a week
Bruh how are you going to say "Toyota just saved ICE's", "Honda just saved ICE's", and "Dodge just saved ICE's"?! 1)Which of them did it, and 2) Dodge didn't do ANYTHING saving ICE's since they switched to an EV and are LATER offering a twin turbo I6?! Dodge is nothing without their big block V8 mentality and Stellantis is killing them. I swear if they bring the Viper back as a crossover EV im going to lose my mind.
Finally coke bottle body is back on charger, baby!!! 🦅🦅🦅
3 liter bottle! Lol....
That 550 hp always works well when I'm on the interstate and snarled in bumper to bumper traffic.
their sales are gonna go down major after this
I thought the owner of dodge wanted to keep the loud and powerful V8's
The owner did want to keep the v8's, but he made that decision because of "Climate change", and Joe Biden pushing the automotive industry to go electric which is stupid!
I’m sure the Dodge executives do, but you’re probably right that Stellantis probably doesn’t.
I'm just glad Dodge listens to its buyers and didn't turn it into a crossover. As far as it being a vacuum, I imagine it'll sound better in person. I've played the audio through my phone but I've also played it through my truck speakers including 2 12" subs. It sounds way better in my truck
Love it or not, I gotta watch to know what the future holds. That shirt!❤
Can't believe it's only 400 volts. Where are we? 2015?
Can't wait to LS this
Didn't forget the back opens like a hatch so more room in the back.
Ngl I love the looks of the new chargers! Interior looks super futuristic aswell and im digging the in-line 6 turbo engine! I had a olds mobile with a inline 6, packing around 230 hp maybe more, super quick instant acceleration
It’s a matter of time before someone puts a hellcat engine in the new charger
Added exhaust sound is proof that following the trend is contrary to what people actually want
From saying the Porsche, then Toyota and Honda, no brand is re ally saving the ICE as of yet. Title is kinda misleading but then, the Charger looks great. I'd like a 4 door variant tho. Hurricane I6 seems super cool. EV Charger name is fitting. Just like the Ford's lightning ❤
Lmfao!!! When I heard a sample clip of The sound of yhe police.
I have a Hemi 6.1 SRT8. That said I am hype to see what comes.
ill still take the I6TT over an electric
Why can't any of these companies make a cheap, fun, fast car for $20K? Instead, they waste money making refrigerators on wheels.
EPA and profits
Genuinely curious to see what the Inline 6 motor is gonna perform like cause many legendary engines have been inline 6’s for example BMW’s N55/S55, Jag XK6, Fords Bara motors and cannot forget the legendary duo JZ and RB
you ain't running from cops on bicycles with an electric dodge with that little range and that low top speed
2024 Dodge Dyson Vacuum RT
Not what I was expecting from a "muscle car" but I honestly think the tt i6 with awd is badass. I just wish they had the v8 option aswell.
I am sad to see the V8 go… but i am glad dodge is atleast ready for the unavoidable EV future unlike the other muscle cars
Brad Danger rocks ! 🤘🏼
Love the exhaust sound out of the Electric Dodge!!🤣😂😁
So, no hybrid?
I’ve got family 💀
Elon is shaking in his boots😂
These things weigh 5900lbs. That is actually heavier than the electric HUMVEE. Elon doesn't care about these things, because they're too damn heavy to pull their own weight. I'm not even a fan of these electric pieces of shit. I don't care about the benefits.
@@Asmith-1111 I agree 💯
If can’t boost it I do t need it
Read the room man, an Inline 6, a boring design that looks like a slightly aerodynamic eraser on wheels, stinky overused full frontal LED headlight. It’s the exact opposite of what we wanted. You can get an F-150 Xl 5.0 V8 for the same cost and yet you’d have more hp and a much better experience.
maybe it doesnt sound awesome because of the inline 6, but it definetely looks GORGEOUS
Only thing is though is the weight of the car. They need to tweak something, because 137 top speed, weighing 5k lbs? Yeah, they definitely didn’t think this through
This guy for real 😂 these charger EV’s are DOA.
I hope they make a v8 one. It is a good looking car.
I'm just glad to see that they're still trying. My whole bit when it comes to powerplants is the sound that comes from an ICE. So, as long as they're able to replicate that and make them look nice, then I'm fine with an EV (sort of...). Whether we like it or not, EVs are coming, and sadly it is very necessary that we make the swap. So I think that this is a step in the right direction as far as keeping the vehicles interesting is concerned - and it doesnt look bad, either.
I mean the police aren’t gonna catch ppl cutting up in chargers anymore so I guess it’s a win
Im glad were basically getting an RB26 charger 😂😂😂
The next gen charger looks more like a recent challenger
Wait until you see the price tag.
Some exec just likes The Wraith a lot, that's why it sounds like it does. I bet Dodge gives one to Charlie Sheen as a gift
We are dodge we built an electric cat sound for our next generation cars xD
Stellantis, just made Chrysler history.
hyundai allready developed power shot with n grin shif but they build fun hothatches elentran n and the kona n. so it didnt make sense now its on a dodge
So that's the, CHARGER
Personally why they just didn't made an hybrid? If they wanted to improve performance they could have the electric motor a better participation in drag and give the combustion one for high speed
The charger Needs a charger to charge the charger
What about the weigth it's the heaviest car in their lineup even a durango is ligther😂
I have a supercharged Hemi with a stick. These look really nice. I’d do the Blue. Never had a blue car. Complain away.
R.I.P Dodge, it was good while it lasted
7:22 ls swaped chargers to be exact
This dude really said 50k is great for an enthusiast?
@4:08 😂 Evading the law in an electric car is a thing of the past. I would assume they can just program it to lock the doors and follow the patrol car to the station.😂 Gas/diesel powered is the only way 😅
theres a gas version lmao
They sacreficed themself for the rest of the boys❤
Will be slow weighing 5,700 pounds 🤦🏽♂️
😂😂😂Is dodge insane, they added an electrified nitrous to the car😂😂
Isn’t the eco boost 4 cylinder lolq
Guesses on the gas version weight?
I’d guess less than 5500
@@KHolzer444 😕was hoping for less than that
I mean, the 2023 Chargers weren’t the lightest either. I was considering if the new chassis would have more bracing to protect the battery, but I don’t know if the electric and gas models’ chassis are as similar as my guess would anticipate
Just wanna know if we can place a V8 in it?!?
From dodge Charger
To need a Charger
If I wanted more power in a cars engine I go get my a 357 big or small chevy block and tune it sence I've work on them with my father and yes it's a old school v8 blocks
Hyundai already has a power rivaling the scatpack ev called the Ioniq 5 N
It is a real charger now💀
You could just helifent swap the banchy and it would a brand new 170
Did someone said "Inline 6" ?
0:44 Dodge is not doing Dodgey things. If they were doing Dodge style then it would be a v8 at least, I can see the twin turbo being swapped in for the super charger for a change but if it’s not a v8 it’s just not it
if i wanted a awd sports coupe the last thing that would pass my mind is dodge
The American gtr is the Cadillac ATS-V
If them used be cheap enough I'll get either one.
An EV muscle car is like an ectomorph bench-pressing 600lbs imo
You mean Porsche! They've got an synthetic gas plant somewhere in south America thats carbon neutral
It's sad that the v6 trim of last year and older is faster than the new hellcat😂😭
Who would want a muscle car that a fly is louder than 😂😂😂
best option is to ls swap and supercharge the i6 model
I know dodge is trying to do the best they can to within the law.
I’m just tired of the EPA destroying our passion.
i kinda wanna see what all you can do with the twin turbo v6
I have a turbo inline 4 tuned it’s amazing and I gap v8 scats all day
Brad is so funny
