I love this. It took me back to my decorative plastering days. I notice you only use soap as a release agent. I would have used shellac back in my time. But no doubt materials and techniques have changed after thirty years. More videos, please. I'm going to get my tools out of storage ;)

I think in the video he said 30 minutes to set. You can learn most of this at a pottery classes in community collages a 3 month's course you'll be throughing clay right at home. You'll just have to make friends at the college so they will fire your clay for you in the kiln I guess that how you spell it. Anyway take a class you will learn from everyone that is taken the class everyone will be on a diffrent level of skills you will learn more at the end of the course.

The mold that creates a hollow center (the first mold) you pour a liquid clay into and the plaster absorbs some of the moisture and you pour the liquid out again and let it dry in the mold a day or so. The longer you leave the liquid in the mold before pouring it out the thicker it is gonna be.

Есть 2 типа матриц. Первая - оригинал в единственном экземпляре, изготовленная по деревянной или вылепленной вручную или другой единственной модели. Потом делают патрицу и из этой патрицы - сколько угодно матриц. Т.к. при работе "расходные" матрицы изнашиваются и приходят в негодность. А оригинал остается. Такой же прицип в литейном деле.
