This is a great thing your doing as i reverted to Islam 2 months & 3 days ago & wish i had someone to be able to teach me more bout Islam as I'm still fairly new to Islam, including teaching me more bout how to do Salah as i have to use tutorials on CZcams to learn how to do it
I've recently made the decision to convert to Islam as i believe its the only true religion left & that all the other religions have lost there ideals, it is a beautiful & simple religion, but haven't taken my Shahada yet, gonna do that tomorrow.....Alhamdulliah

The Ottoman empire did take Christian kids, converted them and trained them to be one of the most elite and loyal soldiers to the empire. They were called Jannisaries. Of course it is not acceptable by Islamic standards to kidnap children. This was a ottoman practice, and not an islamic one.

We don't know how Allah will respond to dua, and there is a hadith teaching us not to be hasty. If this isn't being hasty (expecting a sign within literally 1 second), I don't know what is.
