i don't know how this story ended, or if it has, but discord is the worst thing to use for evidence. as if it wasn't easy enough to fake screenshots, you could just go into the browser version and use inspect element to edit things further, and it's so easy to fake an account to look like someone else's since usernames don't have to be unique. i'd always be suspicious of discord proof just to be safe.

First, yeah, the main part of society does like to jump the gun on accusations (although 90+% of the time the accusations are real), but there's an anti-society that overcorrects those missteps. There's a large audience that will support anyone accused of wrongdoing because they want to believe the accusations are false. Sometimes it ends with the accused being proven innocent, sometimes nothing is proven, but either way this audience will back the accused with blind faith, assuming it's faked. You're also assuming the accused is acting with logic. This is a sex scandal, sex brain can destroy every logical thought that may come to you. You say the responses sound robotic, but if you're imagining an attractive woman on the other side with the same emotions as you, it doesn't matter what's being said to you if it's not directly negative (and even sometimes when it is). You presume the poster has left out information, that they are acting in bad faith, but have no reason to believe this. The accused is just as capable of acting in bad faith, even if we assume that he's not genuinely trying to receive sexual attention. "Real evidence" doesn't mean undeniably true. It means that it would be damning if it were true; evidence that, if proven to be genuine, would indisputably prove the allegations to be true.
Consider that all media always brands anyone accused of pedofila or rape instantly without evidence it would be pretty hard to get their side of the story, charlie on the other hand waits for evidence

Discord screenshots are EXTREMELY easy to fake, and I would assume twitch whispers are easy as hell too. All you have to do is use the inspect tool, just highlight the text and then just right click and then left click on the option. BOOM, you can fake almost anyone saying anything (as long as you have dms with them) Edit: Nevermind, you don't even need DMs with them.
I used to fake discord screenshots for fun, once you have the font and the color codes, you can do that shit in MS paint easy. Hell, you don't even need the font, just letters and words. (which i did use along with MS paint)

I think leaving the streamer's name off this was a good idea. I just want to say, for anyone concerned that this is bait/a hoax/a false accusation: right now, you're right, we can't prove it's true. I personally am not looking for this person to have their career ruined or be deplatformed (at least not without harder evidence). However, people's personal safety > Twitch streamers' careers in terms of relative importance (especially minors' personal safety). Speaking openly about allegations like this and investigating them while giving the survivor/victim the benefit of the doubt, is the safest way to do this. I don't think just trying to find the truth, or even one person warning another "hey just be careful getting too close/parasocial with this person, because there do exist these allegations," is equivalent to finding someone criminally guilty without due process (which is the kind of logic that people always end up bringing out when allegations like this come up). If the allegations turn out to be false, yes, this person's career on Twitch may take a hit, which isn't fair since they didn't do anything. However, people can repair their careers (and also you can just get a different, non-internet job), and tbh from what I've seen in the past in similar cases, even actual predators are able to still have careers in the public eye. So I think this person will probably survive. If the allegations turn out to be true, but we do nothing, it could actually endanger some people. Again, I think their personal safety is a bigger gamble to take than someone's career, although obviously I'd rather not gamble with either. I think it can be easy to see some headlines where someone's allegations were proven false (or even just proven to have some holes in them without being fully debunked), or to watch/read stories about people lying about these kinds of crimes, and to get the idea that false allegations are really common and normal. It's called confimation bias; we remember a given situation more easily, because it was memorable/sensational, and so we get the impression that it happens more often, even if it doesn't. This doesn't mean someone is less intelligent or gullible for having confirmation bias; it's a thing our brain often automatically does as a survival method. Statistically, allegations of sexual misconduct tend not to be false. I was in a situation like this, let me explain; Back in maybe early-mid 2019 there was this ROBLOX Cafe group, that is still up today, called "Frappe" it had its own game and what not. I got roped into this discord group by someone I met on the game, shortly after we assured each other we were both nearly the same age and were modeled citizens, we became good friends. He sent me a server invite to this group that was tasked with getting the group banned. He gave me context: The group owner/chair man was 27 years old (at the time) and groomed young girls. My friend gave evidence, names, ages, and n*des, yes, n*des were redacted by him. I became a dedicated member and would do anything to help get this man banned from both ROBLOX and Discord. I have checked the group recently and it is still up but the 27 y/o has since been replaced. Another thing I should mention was that the guy only accepted women to work in his group and would pay them for n*des while he even knew they were underage. All gendered members are allowed now and my friend is now a transgender so good for him, now her.
Discord msg screenshots are useless, you can literally use discord's built in Inspect Element tool to edit a message to say anything you want and use any pfp or username you want.
That is why discord support doesn't accept screenshots of any kind. They only accept the message link. And if the person has deleted the messages then you can't report them xd

First, yeah, the main part of society does like to jump the gun on accusations (although 90+% of the time the accusations are real), but there's an anti-society that overcorrects those missteps. There's a large audience that will support anyone accused of wrongdoing because they want to believe the accusations are false. Sometimes it ends with the accused being proven innocent, sometimes nothing is proven, but either way this audience will back the accused with blind faith, assuming it's faked.
You're also assuming the accused is acting with logic. This is a sex scandal, sex brain can destroy every logical thought that may come to you. You say the responses sound robotic, but if you're imagining an attractive woman on the other side with the same emotions as you, it doesn't matter what's being said to you if it's not directly negative (and even sometimes when it is).
You presume the poster has left out information, that they are acting in bad faith, but have no reason to believe this. The accused is just as capable of acting in bad faith, even if we assume that he's not genuinely trying to receive sexual attention.
"Real evidence" doesn't mean undeniably true. It means that it would be damning if it were true; evidence that, if proven to be genuine, would indisputably prove the allegations to be true.

Discord screenshots are EXTREMELY easy to fake, and I would assume twitch whispers are easy as hell too. All you have to do is use the inspect tool, just highlight the text and then just right click and then left click on the option. BOOM, you can fake almost anyone saying anything (as long as you have dms with them) Edit: Nevermind, you don't even need DMs with them.
I used to fake discord screenshots for fun, once you have the font and the color codes, you can do that shit in MS paint easy. Hell, you don't even need the font, just letters and words. (which i did use along with MS paint)
AIM was easily faked back in the day, just had to copy username use the return key and start a new line. You could make anyone say anything and it was so simple but flew over alot of people's heads.

I think leaving the streamer's name off this was a good idea. I just want to say, for anyone concerned that this is bait/a hoax/a false accusation: right now, you're right, we can't prove it's true. I personally am not looking for this person to have their career ruined or be deplatformed (at least not without harder evidence). However, people's personal safety > Twitch streamers' careers in terms of relative importance (especially minors' personal safety). Speaking openly about allegations like this and investigating them while giving the survivor/victim the benefit of the doubt, is the safest way to do this. I don't think just trying to find the truth, or even one person warning another "hey just be careful getting too close/parasocial with this person, because there do exist these allegations," is equivalent to finding someone criminally guilty without due process (which is the kind of logic that people always end up bringing out when allegations like this come up).
If the allegations turn out to be false, yes, this person's career on Twitch may take a hit, which isn't fair since they didn't do anything. However, people can repair their careers (and also you can just get a different, non-internet job), and tbh from what I've seen in the past in similar cases, even actual predators are able to still have careers in the public eye. So I think this person will probably survive.
If the allegations turn out to be true, but we do nothing, it could actually endanger some people. Again, I think their personal safety is a bigger gamble to take than someone's career, although obviously I'd rather not gamble with either.
I think it can be easy to see some headlines where someone's allegations were proven false (or even just proven to have some holes in them without being fully debunked), or to watch/read stories about people lying about these kinds of crimes, and to get the idea that false allegations are really common and normal. It's called confimation bias; we remember a given situation more easily, because it was memorable/sensational, and so we get the impression that it happens more often, even if it doesn't. This doesn't mean someone is less intelligent or gullible for having confirmation bias; it's a thing our brain often automatically does as a survival method.
Statistically, allegations of sexual misconduct tend not to be false. It's much more likely for allegations like these to be corroborated and for other evidence to be found, than it is for someone to be shown to be lying about what happened to them (and most often, even when these allegations are proven false, it later turns out that the accuser was actually still the victim of this type of crime, they just lied about who committed it to protect the real culprit for various reasons; usually the real culprit was a family member or authority figure). *Statistically, you are at a much greater risk of experiencing sexual assault/abuse yourself, than you are of being falsely accused of sexual assault/abuse.* These statistics don't necessarily mean that things like false allegations can never happen to anyone, but they mean that if you needed to pick one scenario to go with on limited information, in terms of what actions you might take for your own or someone else's safety, there's one scenario that is much more likely to be true than the other, and so is a "safer" bet.
That said, that scenario only applies to things like "should I be alone/let my younger siblings be alone with this person," not "should this person have a platform." I guess I'm just trying to head off a lot of the discourse we normally see on the internet every time some allegations get made, even before people necessarily know who the allegations are against, because unfortunately, a lot of the time, we get taught to mistrust people making these types of accusations. This narrative we get taught may or may not have something to do with the incredibly large amount of sexual predators that seem to be infesting our cultural, political, and social institutions, and manage to rise to positions of power in them.

I was in a situation like this, let me explain; Back in maybe early-mid 2019 there was this ROBLOX Cafe group, that is still up today, called "Frappe" it had its own game and what not. I got roped into this discord group by someone I met on the game, shortly after we assured each other we were both nearly the same age and were modeled citizens, we became good friends. He sent me a server invite to this group that was tasked with getting the group banned. He gave me context: The group owner/chair man was 27 years old (at the time) and groomed young girls. My friend gave evidence, names, ages, and n*des, yes, n*des were redacted by him. I became a dedicated member and would do anything to help get this man banned from both ROBLOX and Discord. I have checked the group recently and it is still up but the 27 y/o has since been replaced. Another thing I should mention was that the guy only accepted women to work in his group and would pay them for n*des while he even knew they were underage. All gendered members are allowed now and my friend is now a transgender so good for him, now her.

Any and all screenshots are like that. You can open up the developer console in any given web browser and just change what's on the screen and take a screenshot
this is a thing that's very easy to do, once in my school some guy made a snapchat account, named it some kid he didn't like then sent some very bad words and screenshotted it then sent it to the school and he got expelled. This is is a very different case but it's an example of how texts are so easy to fake

I get the vibe that he orchestrated this whole thing, called for you to make a video exonerating him knowing shit wasn't true, so you'd get to the bottom of it, and he'd get all of the publicity.
