I used to live in Rheda-Wiedenbrück but my landlord had a business in Minden. I later married someone who was with the Royal Artillery in Gütersloh. I've been living in Canada for the last 10 years or so and the UK before that but I certainly enjoyed this trip down memory lane. 😊 Many thanks, vielen Dank!

My Dad was stationed at Kingsley Barracks, he was in the REME. We were in Minden from '80 to 83' I think. Christmas in Germany was the best!

I was stationed in Minden 81 and had relatives in Dankersen, used to jump the back fence in those days to go visit or it was miles extra via front gate, REME so our LAD club was at the far end at the old stables which made it easier, no problems in those days unlike now with ISIS and others realy enjoyed my time with the German people in the area.

I often google map where we used to live. Do you ever get to Potts PARC? Would love to see how that's changed and the old out door swimming pool.

Hi Gizzy’s Travels, I’m also RGJ brat. Also based in Minden in 84/85. Went to Lancaster Primary in barracks. Can also remember Potts Park and it’s still going. Did you also go to Möhnesee Dam water school sports trip? Then posted to Warminster.

Thanks for that Ollie, we used to live in Barenkampen and my husband worked in St Georges Barracks. We left thirty years ago and I didn't get to see much of the place because we didn't have a car. It was lovely to see it again, such a beautiful town.

Are the barracks still being used for the military?

Part of my life was in St George's barracks. Nothing will erode the memory. I would live it through it again and again till I die. You can't erase memory's.
