This splendid performance is a perfect example of why Welsh culture, its wonderful language, history & passion for singing must be preserved!
It sounds beautiful when sung like this but the language sounds horrible when spoken.
Splendid - just beautiful!
Can't wait till I'm good enough to sing with you all in concert
So moving. I am a proud son of Dad from Port Talbot and Mum, of Cardiff, Thinking of them
How truly beautiful 👌🏴🇬🇧🇦🇺
My Dads favourite he used to sing this to me as a child 1
Zsuch beautiful words. A lot of these guys came from felindre where I’m from.
Beautiful Gents
So moving.
Ardderchog! Cor arbennig o'dda!
Nid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus,
I'm not asking for a life that's easy,
Aur y byd na'i berlau mân:
For the world's gold or its delicate pearls:
Gofyn wyf am galon hapus,
What I ask for is a heart that’s happy,
Calon onest, calon lân.
A heart that’s honest, a heart that’s pure.
Chorus:
Calon lân yn llawn daioni,
A pure heart is full of goodness -
Tecach yw na'r lili dlos:
More beautiful than the fair lily,
Dim ond calon lân all ganu
Only a pure heart can sing -
Canu'r dydd a chanu'r nos.
Sing the day and sing the night.
Hwyr a bore fy nymuniad
Evening and morning my desire
Gwyd i'r nef ar adain cân Is carried to heaven on the wing of song -
Ar i Dduw, er mwyn fy Ngheidwad,
It's that God, for the sake of my Saviour,
Roddi i mi galon lân.
May give to me a pure heart.
Oh, thank you - I've heard this lovely song so many times without understanding the beautiful words.
Diolch iawn i ti!
Dw i’n dysgu Cymraeg yn araf, ond rwy’n ceisio.
It’s nice having the words to read/sing along with. Really helps my listening skills.
Thanks again.
