Mrs Dan Dare here to say bring some hard soled slippers as you'll maybe want to use the bathroom or loo and you might not want to walk through them with your socks on.
Definitely!!!
It's amazing how quickly time has flown by - from watching your pregnancy test videos to packing your hospital bag. Prayers for a safe delivery and healthy baby - God bless you and Dom, and your soon to be baby boy!
It’s always better to pack too much rather than not enough! Your sweet baby boy will be here before you know it 💙
Coming down to the wire now , Kay! Don’t stress over anything dear, it will be fine. Love seeing how excited you are, I do hope Dom will put up a baby arrived notice on YT or IG.
It's lovely to see you so excited! I can't wait to see your little bub ❤
Hi Kay, I'm very excited for you! You can't have to much, this little bubby is very lucky to you and Dom as parents. ❤
Bless you, Kay...your excitement is contagious!
Best wishes for a speedy/ rapid/ safe delivery. Savor every moment with your little boy, they grow up fast!! God bless!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤
Kay, you haven't packed too much. You packed what you thought you might need. I'm always for being prepared. Love seeing how excited you are! Praying for the birth to go well and a healthy little boy.❤
So excited for you and Dom to meet your son. Looks like you packed well and have everything ya'll might need.
In the states they provide all the diapers, pads, water wipes, socks, after care for both baby and mom. I remember the nurses packing up anything they opened on us and sending it home with us. That is one nice thing in the states. Prayers for a smooth labor and recovery 🙏🏻 ❤
I'm guessing that having a baby in the States comes at a cost? Health care is free at the point of access here in the UK & tbh I think I'd prefer that than wipes & socks etc. 🙂xx
Is healthcare paid for by taxes? It has to be paid for by someway. We have private insurance which is paid for by your employer except for a premium every month or government aide insurance for those that don’t have it. We have private rooms with a private bathroom. You don’t leave your room during your stay, give birth in your room unless c section but your come back to same room after surgery. Everything is provided unless you would rather use a specific product. There is pros and cons to both healthcares. We don’t pay taxes for healthcare.
That’s what I was thinking, here in the states we really don’t need to take much to the hospital. I rather use most things they provide for me in the hospital and leave everything at home for my recovery that way I don’t get them dirty and have a huge laundry 🧺 after. But each country is different and sometimes there is no choice other than pack everything with you to be comfortable.
Hello Kay, I watched until the end because I’m so excited and happy for you and Dom to be at this stage already! I hope you have a safe and fast delivery and recovery. I’m not pregnant, but hopefully soon! 🍀 💗
I love your excitement. I was the same with my first baby, nothing more precious than holding your baby for the first time. Wishing you all well and enjoy every single second.
Lip balm was my saviour after delivery, breathing through contractions dried my lips out and they were so sore.
I packed hair straighteners, makeup, perfume and the lot but after a long labour I could barely bother to even brush my teeth haha
St love all you updates! It's so awesome some of my favorite CZcamsrs are pregnant now. I am due in March so I don't even have to find new people cuz my favorites already post what I want to see. Best of wishes to you Kay.
This is such an exciting time! I remember that last month for both of my children. Standing in their nurseries, looking at their clothes and just imagining that very soon they will be home with you❤
Oh dear 1st world problems.I didn't have any of this! I thought you were in and out of hospital in a heart beat. I stayed in a week and as I said I didn't have any of this. You will need a suite of hospital rooms
Good luck Kay!I hope everything goes well!such a special time!you’ve definitely packed well!thats exactly what I packed with my daughter!table salt is good to pack incase you have stitches need a bath after birth!stops infection helps you heal after.xx
Your pregnancy seems to have flew by. Wishing you all the best with your labour when it’s time. You and Dom will be fantastic parents.
You just can't have missed anything dear Kay 🤪 As long as you feel safe, that's the main thing. Good luck with all. hugs
Hi Kay, think you are covered with everything you might need, little one will be here soon, so exciting xx
So exciting! I think you thought of everything, so much cool stuff! Our girls are grown, in their early 20s, so it really takes me back
I had to have both by c sections but everything went great and both pregnancies were different, just like their personalities
Oh, if you get any of those LARGE gift bags those are great for bringing home all the Extra, flowers, stuff the Hosp gives you, you’ll have a haul coming home! Keep us posted! I have no grandchildren yet so I’m living vicariously through you, ha! 🎉
Good luck Kay your about to, experience one of the best days of you life, meeting your little boy, hope everything goes well .
I think it’s always best to pack more, rather than being there wishing you’d brought an item with you! ☺️
Such an exciting time for you and Dom…sending you and your wee man soon to arrive love and blessings from a Grandma of four precious littles here in Calgary, Alberta Canada. ♥️🥰♥️
Kay, nie mogę się napatrzeć na sypialnię po zmianach, jest cudownie! Pokój dla maluszka uroczy ❤
Will you keep us updated about when you have your baby boy with his name & weight please 😊 xx
You certainly have packed for any occurrence!! One thing I would say is to not eat any chocolate. I saw some in your snack bag. Many babies often have a reaction when a breastfeeding Mum has chocolate! All the best and I hope it goes well and you have a safe and happy birth experience. It is a beautiful time. I’m a doula and have been there at many births - including all of my grandchildren. xx
How exciting! I have an 8 year old and feels like ages since I packed my hospital bag. One thing I wish I was told was to photocopy my maternity notes. I never had them back unfortunately x
@@Williams62 excellent thank you
Hello 👋 KAY- first of all I will like to say: Congratulations to your New Baby 😊 I very much been following your videos for the past 4 years and your such an angel 😇 and a lovely soul. From: Texas and I love 💕 your cozy home. Can’t wait to re-visit London again. Last visit was back in 2014 and it’s very Beautiful. God Bless You and your family. Lots of love 😊
What an exciting time ❤ enjoy it dear Kay ❤ have a lovely sunday 🎉
Bless your heart....your hospital bag is over the top, ha ha! I am betting you don't use even 25% of what is in that bag, lol! But I would love to see a follow up video on what you actually used at the hospital. I am excited for you and can't wait to see your new baby, good luck with everything! XOXO
I’m feeling so excited for all 5 😉 of you! 🎉😊
Lovely video Kay. Take everything you need for your birth journey and after to make it special xx
Happy you enjoyed it 🥰
Kay.Sending you & Dom very best wishes, this is a lovely video ❤
(Mum of 5 and 2 grandkids here) I recommend a pair of slip on shoes/slippers as you may not be able to bend down to actually put your socks on or they may get "wet". Also recommend you put a zip lock bag or similar with 1 nappy, baby vest, baby grow and hat in for when baby is first born so Dom knows to grab for the midwife and its all there rather than route around looking-unless you've been in a while your case won't be unpacked for labour xx p.s best of luck xxx
Good luck to you and Dom hope everything goes well xx
Enjoy motherhood, Kay😌not gonna lie it will prove to be difficult at times but there’s such an intense amount of love that comes over you this calming peace watching your baby grow and change and it’s just a wonderful feeling of this beautiful life God has given you so just relax you and Dom just enjoy and eventually everything will fall into place! Plus having your first child is somewhat of a learning experience because then when baby 2 and 3 arrive you already know what to do and what to expect and you’re better prepared! So I just wish you and Dom the best, don’t worry about a thing just focus on your son and your family and trust me, everything is going to work out! Prayers for a safe and healthy delivery🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Well done Kay, so excited for you! Don’t forget some cheap flip flops for the showers and to shove on to pop to the loo x
Slippers if you stay….good job…if you’ve had your little joy congratulations! Best wishes to you all…..blessings
I was sent for a walk when I was in labour, so dressing gown is a good idea. Wishing you all the best x
Hi Kay, this brings back sooo many memories of when i had my two boys at a very young age. The eldest is now 23 and iam 40 with a very bad disabling autoimmune disease. I could have never had anymore children around 30 when i bacame ill. Everything happens for a reason, i say.
Iam so soooo please for you and cant wait to see how happy you will be 😊❤x
You're getting close! I'm so excited for you and Dom. It was interesting seeing what new mothers pack now. Back when I had my children, the hospital supplied so much of these items and sent us home with a huge supply of things as well. I'm not sure if that's the case now when healthcare "extras" are very streamlined and minimal. It's good to come prepared, regardless. I agree. There's no harm in packing too much. You can bring home whatever you don't use. One suggestion is that you get another comb, so you can have one for each hand during contractions. You didn't mention the baby's car seat, but over here that's an absolute necessity. They won't let you leave the hospital without one. Be sure and familiarize yourself with all of the intricacies about how it works to get baby in and out of it and also how to put it in place in the car. I can tell you are a very organized person, so I'm sure you're thought of everything. I can only say that your excitement is contagious, and it's bringing back so many happy memories for me. What wonderful days you have ahead of you!
That’s what I told her! So fun!
😊 nice video - a lot to remember. 43 years ago when I had my daughter all I took was a nighty pants a pack of sanitary pads wash bag a baby grow and my handbag!!😂 also hubby😊. Wishing you all the best x
Really that's all you need! Everything else is just for increased comfort 🥰
Me too! Of course so much of this (almost all) was not available at the time.
Me too! 😂- Frances
My four were all over 8lbs.The largest was 9lb 3oz.They all came home in 3 to 6 month babygrows 😂
Me to was never as prepared I’m afraid but as you say a lot of the stuff wasn’t available and I didn’t sleep for about 3 days so maybe would be good if relaxing stuff was with me but far too stressed to sleep on the ward x
Hi Kay, I just want to tell you that I am 63 years old and I find your vlogs very calming and interesting. The little pink fan that you have.... My daughter-in-law has a black one just the same and it comes in so handy. She and my son had their first little one on July 6th. You are in for such an exciting journey as a family of 3. I wish you all of the best .
Brilliant. X so happy for you guys xx
I had my baby girl at 36 weeks! I cannot wait to see you with your baby 😅 all the best Kaye ❤
Hi Kay and dom ,u look well Kay congratulations to both of u ,exciting times x
You're so close to meeting your baby boy🩵, I wish you all the luck. Could be any day from 37 weeks. Rest while you can before baby arrives. All the best. Take care.
I am nearly in my 31st week but with my 11th pregnancy. I should do a hospital bag packing video for another perspective from someone living in Australia. All the best with the end of your pregnancy, Kay.
Good luck sweetheart. Very exciting. xxx
Don’t feel self conscious about an amount you have or haven’t packed, it’s what you need or want or think you might need or want for peace of mind!
You are the queen👑👸of prepared. With your second baby you’ll just take the gray backpack. You know all those treats🍫will be eaten by Dom.😁praying🙏for you a healthy baby and safe delivery👼😊.
Hi Kay 👋🏼 I’m currently 36 weeks as well, with baby #5. (#4 was a second trimester miscarriage so this little babe has been long awaited for - we now have an almost 6 year gap with baby & our youngest so feels like I’m learning all the tips and tricks again!)
One piece for advice I’d give you is bring your ball, if you forget anything else it doesn’t matter but if that’s the only position you can get comfy in now you will need it in labor! We made the mistake of assuming the hospital would have one with baby #3. They did with my first two. But we showed up and they didn’t have any and I was too advanced for my husband to go and buy another one. It was NOT fun not having it to help cope!
Best of luck. I’ll miss your videos but I’m so glad you’re taking time off to enjoy your little family. You deserve it!
Like you say, pack what works for you. I went in with next to nothing and had my baby without any pain relief whatsoever and actually discussed my midwife’s wedding arrangements lol. The only advice I would give is to breathe like they teach you when each contraction comes as it works. You got this ❤
Your mum is a lovely knitter. Good luck. ❤- Frances
You remind me of my happy times! The hospital told me to bring just 3 sleepsuits, but he chucked up all over them in no time and I had to stay in the ward for 3 nights, so it clearly wasn't enough! 🤣🤣
During my last few weeks someone said I should enjoy this time to myself before the birth. I didn't appreciate this until he was born! Enjoy this time, do what makes you happy and get plenty of sleep 😊 xx
LOL at Echo fascinated by the candle and you were oblivious XD
The tens machine got me through till they induced me then I had a epidural. It’s a god send and I highly recommend considering I used it for two days 😂. You will be fine and you are more than prepared what I would say is breast pads for leakages and lots of pads the bigger the better for the afterbirth etc. you got this hun xxx
I HIGLY recommand to take a LED candle, because it will give you a soft light when you have to get up in the middle of the night to feed your baby. The fairy lights is a great option !
I would recommend packing plently of disposable knickers. You won't want to mess about with washing those. Loose fitting nighties are brilliant during labour. You maintain some modesty whilst staff being able to access all areas! Sending you all the calm and positive vibes for your birth. Just wait until you squish your beautiful baby x
Happy sunday kay beautiful and cosy video 😊 xx
Thanks lovely, have a great day 🤗
So excited for you both! You may need slippers or flip flops as nurses might not let you walk about in socks.xx🥰🥰
Ok I have a few things you perhaps didn’t think of, lip balm or something similar for your lips if you do use the gas and air it really dries out your lips terribly so definitely pack that just incase and I recommend a water bottle with a straw as it’s so much easier to drink, alsooo flip flops for shower or toilet like the other comments, I had a section and was out the following day so didn’t actually shower but I did use them as my feet were really uncomfortable so it was handy for that. Love these videos you pack as much as you like ❤ps highly recommend those pants you got the midwife recommend me these after my section and just general comfort x
Good luck lovely 😊 ❤️
I am not a mum but i am a cat mum😉 , But an idea for Dom if he needs to get more stuff for you, Maybe pre pack it for him so he doesn’t need to look trough you’re whole house and saves maybe alot of time and then he can be back with you and baby boy😉😘
Your little red book sounds a lot like what we refer to as a Plunket book in New Zealand. Mum still probably has mine tucked away somewhere, even after downsizing.
Slippers that you can throw away as you need them for the loo and showers x
Happy Sunday 😊
Exciting x
Good luck Kay and dom , hope all goes well, take slippers! When I had surgery they wouldn't allow me to walk to the loo without slippers on!! How long are you on maternity leave? Did ask few times before but got no reply ❤
I’d recommend taking a clothes peg as you can clip the phone charger to your bed x
Sooooo exciting! Maybe a pair of sliders Incase you want to walk about. Xx
Yes and to use in the shower 😊
Say "I love you"
without saying those three words...go!💛
Aww we use a Gigil bag for Darcy & that’s what I took to hospital for her too 🥰 I’ve got all my stuff laid out for a hospital bag video, just need to film it!
I found out about them through you! Such a great changing bag, so impressed with it 😍 Oooh get it filmed! Would love to see 🥰
Also yes, pramsuits aren’t safe for the car seat (nothing bulky or hooded) x
@@Livingthelifeyoulove we took the flap off pretty quickly but it’s held up so well! X
Hope all goes well with the birth of your baby. I think you may over packed, if you don't mind me saying, don't remember taking so much with me when my sons were born. Good luck anyway.
You might have it already, but I remember wishing I'd packed lip balm x
Hi Kay it was suggested to me by a midwife after having my first baby to use both the adult nappy and two maternity pads just letting you know
My boys are in their 40’s 😂 so interesting to see the difference in that length of time.
I recommend a book, fiction or puzzle. Just in case you do end up stuck in over night afterwards.
My babies both went straight into 0-3months clothes - they were both almost 10lbs at birth which the first time was quite a surprise😂😂😂
❤❤❤❤
Dear Kay, to be honest I haven't watched the full video - simply because, I'm in a very different season of life right now. But I just wanted to commend that I'm very happy and exited for you and I'm wishing you all the best for your last weeks of pregnancy and for giving birth to a healthy baby boy
Aww thank you lovely! ♥️
Hello! I notice you said Dom suffers from migraines (me too). Has he tried triptans? I got a prescription from the doctor and they’ve honestly changed my life
Kay, please please please take a pair of flip flops for the shower post birth (or for nipping to the toilet etc)! Our NCT teacher advised it and oh my gosh I was so thankful to have them. I was desperate for a shower afterwards but all the ladies on the ward, having recently given birth, were using them and they obviously aren't cleaned in between each and every patient xx
Not long now! X ls disposable breast pads are going to be your friend in hospital and you might find uuse your pads first then pants. Good luck with your birth x
Looking forward to see all 5 of you together I included the cats too❤❤❤❤😊😊 much love to all😊
my daughter was straight into 0-3. she we 9 lb 4oz and very long so her legs were too long for newborn . so many cute outfits not used 😞 maybe next time!
I suffer from migraines and found that a migraine tens machine can reduce or even ward of a migraine. I take it with me everywhere.
I would wear maternity pads with your own pants Kay x
You r taking rubbish to the hospt like lights and a comb a fan and food Its very funny
Just remember, there are no medals given out for a painful birth. 🤭🤐
An unmedicated birth does not equate to a painful birth.
I gave birth at home unmedicated to my first baby and it was the best, most powerful experience of my life.
There’s no medal given for any form of birth.
Women are amazing and however she chooses to give birth is her choice and comments like this are extremely unhelpful and unwelcome to anyone expecting a baby.
Kay, fair play to you putting in all this work. Hypnobirthing is amazing and that Freya app is a gift for the breathing (in for 4 out for 8 counter) and mp3s. Wishing you all the best ❤
You say you intend to breast feed. So for the sake of your baby and yourself please please please throw out all those snacks and eat healthily. For both of you.
