I was there with my father for the 65th anniversary. I was still a little boy back then but it was very impressive and left a deep impression on me. I even spoke to veterans, an incredible experience.
My two of my great great uncles were at d day he was a gunsmith, and he was one of the guys who left the door open from the camps .he was the guy from band of brothers .
My grandfather was in WN 64 a little further east of the famous WN 62 where Heinrich Serverloh had his MG42, he was stationed at the mortar position and had to leave Omaha Beach quite early because he was wounded while getting ammunition. Unfortunately he died a few years ago . He always said never war again to me, never war again, my boy. War is hell!
They should have made Omaha Beach a little smaller, i.e. the beach section, because the map is way too big for only 100 players, but I have to say that the developers really did a good job. Charlie Sector or Vierville Exit looks exactly like the real thing. Good video!
When I played the map for the first time, I thought exactly the same thing. Sometimes it's very intense when everyone is concentrating on one spot, but often the 50 american get lost across the width of the beach, which of course destroys the immersion.
The first few minutes were intense. Every time I have the chance to play this map as a german in offensive mode I try to get an MG42, to date I haven't managed it. I wish this map is played more often
Wish I had booked a trip to Normandy for the anniversary. Crazy its been 80 years; I remember the 60th when I was in high school.

I can't even imagine what it must have been like for them back then. Rest in peace to all who died on this day!
It must have been hell on earth for both sides, first the bombardment for the Germans and then the terrible situation of the Americans on the beach.
