Redbone was an amazing Native American band that traveled around the world! Lolly and Pat Vegas also wrote songs for many artists. Jimmy Hendrix said that Lolly Vegas was one of the best guitar players he'd ever heard! Before Redbone Lolly and Pat Vegas played the clubs on the Sunset Strip!

Here's a little factoid; the Dance done at the beginning by the Native American brother is a special dance that he had to study for years under the direction of his tribal leaders and only he can perform it with their full approval and permission once he perfected the art of this particular dance. This was a special visual treat we got to see today!

Yes Redbone was Native American, & the Dance is called the "Fancy Dance", Pan-Indian dancing, Fancy Feather or Fancy War Dance is a style of dance some believe was originally created by members of the Ponca tribe in the 1920s and 1930s, in an attempt to preserve their culture and religion. It is loosely based on the War dance. Please react to more, they have many hits out there!!!

I saw this on TV on the Midnight Special when it first appeared. At first, I didn't appreciate the term Mutt, but then I remembered that mixed breeds are healthier because of that reason, appreciate your posts. Thank you from an Aztec.

If you feel like some more classic Native American rock, you might want to check out Rumble by Link Wray. (The earlier the version, the better.)

So many people are unaware of WHO & WHAT Link Wray contributed to Rock+Roll. But many Indigenous musicians are just NOW getting recognition due. PEACE to you. At least WE KNOW!!!

The documentary, Rumble: The Indians Who Rocked the World is so incredible. Just mind blowing how itegral the influence of Native American traditional music was on music like the blues, both instrumental and vocals. Also the big influence on rock music, many rockers who we don't even realize were of some Native American descent, incl Jimi Hendrix. Highly recommended. Of course Redbone is in the documentary, and a lot about Link Wray, plus other rockers.

@@jenniferfoster1692 YES!! I watched that documentary. I was surprised to learn how many Natives were/are in the Music biz. I had saved it on my DVR, until hard drive quit. Had to replace it, but am sure it will come on again.🤞🎸
I love Rita Coolidge Walela and Robbie Robertson. Native music is so calming and heals my Spirit🪶 DONT need no CALM app. Just play my lists I've made.
