GBO2 Gundam MK-V: The fastest 650 cost raid?!

  • This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV1 Gundam MK-V on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 650-700 cost raid with explosive mobility, long melee reach, great damage in both shooting and melee engagements, LV2 Power Accelerator and a Shield Booster skill which reduces thrust consumption. It has weaknesses such as low HP and being large, which is a pretty bad combination to have together. This suit is one of my favourites and I have been meaning to make another video on it for a while now. It is one of those suits that seems bad on paper but the loadout being practical for a wide range of situations means that it can perform better than you might think. It definitely isn't the best 650 cost raid but it can definitely do a lot if you learn its tricks. I hope that you enjoy watching!
    The primary weapon of the MKV is a beam rifle with 2600 power, 4 ammo, 5.5 seconds cooldown, 15 seconds reload, 0.77 seconds swap, 400m range and 10% stagger value. This is pretty standard as far as beam rifles go but it has solid power and decent cooldown. You can combo this into your shooting weapons or go into melee. Be careful with the low amount of ammo.
    Its primary melee weapon is a hyper beam saber with 2900 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.5 seconds swap time and 70% combo modifier. This has solid power but not the best at 650 cost, it makes up for this with its absolutely massive reach and fast swap time. It has the same moveset as Zeta Gundam so it is easy to use it to initiate melee or confirm from a downswing. Its length is so great that you can often neutral swing them from outside of tackle distance.
    Its first sub weapon is a pair of INCOMs with 1100x2x2 power, 50%x2 heat, 2 seconds cooldown, 13 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 300m range and 35%x2x2 stagger value. These are really powerful as far as INCOMs go considering their long range, high damage and good stagger value. These can often stagger on their own but you can use them in combination with your beam cannons for really easy staggers and high damage.
    Its second sub weapon is a back beam cannon with 1700x2 power, 75% heat, 1.8 seconds cooldown, 17 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap, 400m range and 35%x2 stagger value. These have high heat and insane damage but do not instant stagger. They have high stagger accumulation though and can be used with your INCOMs for easy staggers. You can also use them in-between downswings to get even more damage from combos.
    It also has a 15000 HP shield booster. This lets you use the Shield Booster skill to decrease thrust consumption and increase boosting speed. The shield itself is slim and has a lot of HP, so it is unlikely to break.
    The MKV has 18000 HP, 22 ballistic and beam resist along with 34 melee resist. This isn't a lot of HP for 650 cost, even when you consider the 15% buffers for the legs and back you are still going to be squishy. You have the very rare LV3 Maneuver Armor at 650 cost which gives you 143% stun resistance while boosting and decreases damage taken while boosting by 15%, along with also having LV1 Emergency Evasion.
    It also has 135 hover speed, 230 boost speed, 65 thrust and 75 turning speed. The base amount of thrust is low and the boosting speed is high but not the best at cost. This changes dramatically though when you consider the Shield Booster skill. This increases HSM by 10, adds LV3 Flight Control, reduces thrust consumption at the start of HSM by 20% and reduces thrust consumption while boosting by 25%.. This is a ridiculously powerful skill since it increases the already good mobility of MKV to insane levels. You also have LV2 Forced Injectors as is standard.
    It also has another very strong skill with LV2 Power Accelerator. This skill makes it so that you can boost out of the clash animation almost as soon as it happens, no matter what type of clash it is. This allows you to get a free combo on enemies you clash with and also to escape when you accidentally clash with an ally.
    Overall I feel like the MK-V is just okay. It of course has incredible mobility, good damage and long melee reach, but the poor durability is a major issue. Xeku Zwei being so overpowered right now makes it even more difficult. I think it should get more buffs, just with a few changes. +2000 HP, 5 seconds beam rifle cooldown and 6 ammo for the beam rifle would make the suit much more viable if they would nerf Xeku Zwei at the same time. It should still be alright enough to use in your matches though, especially if you are good with using melee weapons that have long reach. Just be wary of your bad match-ups. Thanks for watching!

    Used this suit quite a bit when it first came out but stopped after it got power crept. I'm really happy they buffed this thing a while back. Just wish they gave it more bulk, aside from that its long reach beam saber really helps catch people off guard and cannons+incoms are nice for breaking most stun resists and is able to fight midrange compared to most raids. Also big plus since its a sentinel designand probably my favorite gundam design

    Slick piloting you did there. When I started trying to use Raids more, this suit was really helpful. The ranged options were useful to output damage when I couldn't get through their frontline, and the shield booster allowed me to get in and do big damage with melee when given the opportunity.

    Man I wish I could play half as good as you do dude. Doesn't help that I have been having severe connection issues (I play on pc) as of late, to the point where I can't complete a match.
    The irony being that I didn't experience any when the majority of people were complaining about the issue. But yeah I currently sit penaltied up the arse, unable to play ranked and really wanting to try out the Code Fairy suits I spunked twenty quid I couldn't really afford on.
    Anyways sorry for my grumbling, I seriously dig your videos and am learning a lot from them. Can't wait for the issues to be fixed because this game is seriously my jam.

      @@Zaku_Meistermine isn't helped by being connected via a WiFi bridge, as for it being hackers I am not sure, the only cheating I have experienced is with people obviously using "trainers".
      .
      I did however manage to get a solid night of games in yesterday after writing this, so perhaps the solution is to complain I to the void lol.
      Anyways I hope your (and mine) problems go away soon, I enjoy this game too much to just give up on it.

      @@Zaku_Meister I suggest giving Powerline Adaptor a try. This game is p2p, you start lagging if you can't maintain connection to host. Enemies you can't maintain connection to will start rubberbanding or even teleporting

    My all-time favorite raid, always my go-to on 650. I don't care if it's outclassed by a few other suits. I just love how it plays with it's speed, mobility, ultra-long saber reach (and i got melee up to 80ATK) which catches so many people off-guard completely with that forward swipe.Partly because there's very few MK V's being used so nobody gets used to it's kit. Which i happily take advantage of 🙂The 15K health shield whilst thin, you can use to deflect a lot of shots. especially in space simply backpedal without boost; if the enemy shoots at your main body that's a free block right there as the backpedel moves the shield to cover your main body. The shield booster skill was a much needed buff they gave it like, what 6-8 months ago ?

      Stein is better in shooting
      Banshee is better in melee

      Its basically gundam mk2 with maneuver armor lv4

    • @TheLurkerAtTheThreshold
      @TheLurkerAtTheThreshold Před rokem +1

      Well to be fair your comparing a base 650 cost MS to base 700 cost MS. This suit is 100% worth it at 650 cost while I would stick with Banshee or Stein at 700 cost. Only use Mk.V Lv.2 in 700 is you want to prove skill. I will say though the long reach beam saber is definitely good no matter what.

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  Před rokem +2

      It isn't worth it. Sinanju Stein is way WAY stronger. MKV LV2 is a for fun suit but for rated match it is a way better idea to use Banshee or Stein.
