This is genius. Going to the mtv awards and performing the most “fuck this” set he could.
Too bad he’s a woke clown now🤣🤡🤣🤡🤣

👍😉
Word. Coolest thing to happen at the MTV awards since Nirvana started playing the intro to Rape Me at 1992 MTV awards, even tho they had been specifically told not to play that song. They eventually played Lithium. But backstage the producers were losing their minds haha

Im millinneal and remember the Prince pants! Omggggg

The Madonna dress. Been there for all of it!
That’s because Em don’t ever use auto tune. He is authentic in everything he do.
Plenty of great singers use autotune. It's just an instrument.
@@Sordemith but singers who dont use it are more respected
@@mohammadhrajaeei8637 sometimes it honestly makes the song better. Post Malone uses auto tune very well and his songs are catchy. But you are right that more often than not it is used as a cover up for bad vocals

Em was/is a fucking wrecking ball. Unmatched. I saw that performance on tv when it aired. Insane. Doing the Fred Durst line right by Durst - red hat - was awesome.
i remember he left fred hanging right there too. this was after that Everlast beef started.
Carson and Christina are right there as well lmao. Whoever made those seating arrangements was the GOAT
It just goes to show how the VMAs were staged for publicity. Remember him and Moby? And Christina presenting him an award ?
And shakes Carson Daly’s hand at the same time..Em was a SAVAGE!!
But if he had a fight with Fed Durst so why he appeared on videoclip?
His live show is beyond descript words. The energy is insane, and yes he sounds the same as he does in the studio.I saw him a few times with D-12 waaaay back in the day when he just came on the rap scene, and hes kept it real ever since then, unchanging, true to himself, and what he brings to the world...GO SEE HIM LIVE SHAQ!!!!

Omg I hear the crying now lol

im tired of seeing these comments under every eminem video bruh people were literally protesting against him then
@@Shino-lr2wi People protested Elvis. Lots of musicians are protested. But cancelled? Censored? Music is so vanilla and sterile now. Unique artists/bands are hard to find anymore. If you aren’t a clone of hundreds of existing mainstream artists then you don’t stand a chance. You say what they tell you to say. Write what they tell you to write. Offend only who they allow you to offend. Look how they want you to look. Eminem was a middle finger to all of that. It’s definitely a different scene now than 20 years ago.
...Em being one of those very snowflakes you're referencing...
How does anyone hate on Em? He really did do something completely new with his Shady persona and content. And then the skill to back it up.
i absolutely love Eminem, but you gotta admit that a lot of his early radio hits were corny.. a lot of them are still good, but you need to think about how other hip hop artists look at it. Thats a big reason a lot of people wont give him his flowers. Not because he cant rap, but so many of his songs were/are so silly and many super mainstream talking about Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera and whatnot. Hip Hop is not about that lol, but again, I love him.. but I understand why some view them how they do.
I was 16 when this was released. My hair was dyed blonde just like Em. Girls liked it so that's what we did. I remember being an absolute heaven watching this. Not a care in the world.

And who is the girl next to him, Is that christina?
@@harichinnu872 no that is tara reid, one of carson's old girlfriends.
I remember this coming on live. The sheer thought of Eminem being on anything live was terrifying to most people at this time. Some of my friends parents wouldn’t let my friends watch this performance, and we were in high school. I got so excited when I saw this!
I remember being a lil kid dancing around to this performance, not knowing how crazy the lyrics were until i grew up 🤣🤣🤣
His energy then was absolutely phenomenal
Saw him live in South Africa in 2014! His presence is legendary! A night I’ll never forget!
Me too..at Ellis Park stadium. Was Epic!
In his Limp Bizkit diss “Girls” he talks about the moment in this performance where he gave Carson Daily a high five and purposely left Fred Durst hanging. You can totally see it and I’m pretty sure he made sure he was making it a point to have eye contact with him when he says the next two words in his verse, “little bitch”. I just noticed that last part during this viewing.
But I thought little bitch was aimed at Christina Aguilera because of during a interview..she mentioned something about him being married to Kim. But they use to go back and forth in interviews flirting till she said that Kim thing.
And wasn't that Christina Aguilera next to him?
I’m not sure? It was hard to tell

People don’t understand how many people either loved him or hated him… mostly it was the media & politicians & religious group went after him…which made us as young adults want to hear him more.
I saw Eminem live in Abu Dhabi in 2019 and it-was amazing. This performance ,no life shaq was reacting to , was when Eminem was at his prime. I highly recommend seeing Eminem live because The energy and crowd were crazy.

I’ve seen Eminem live in concert twice in his classic years. Once when he first dropped TES and the next when he dropped Encore. Man, early Em didn’t give a fuck. It’s funny, looking back and comparing him to more modern day Em, a lots changed. He’s no longer outlandish. He’s more technical now. But I loved the early years, Em was so much fun. When Em was even younger than me, he has already sold more than 30 million units, had 3 classic albums, joint venture on 50 with Dre, Em’s top 1 of ALL time. He’s the definition and standard barer of “GOAT”.
Man I love ya Shaq still as much as sub 25k! Still cracking me up consistently and spreading the love. I remember watching this live on TV only because he was going to own the show. I remember where I was and who was there. A bunch of blown away people. God bless him and God bless you too! 🤘🤘🤘🤘

My twin sister went to NYC for the first time the day of the VMAS in 2020 and She ended up seeing this Eminem performance. She loved it.
I’m 50 Shaq and I promise you the streets was empty for this much anticipated performance!
I remember being 13 or 14 watching this in England on the MTV over there...my mom let me Stay home from school so I could stay up and watch it bc of the time difference.. It was a great time to be that age. L He would say and do sht that nobody in the world had done and was actually successful. There was literally NWA, Luke, and then Em. They tried to keep his records out the stores, not play him on the radio, lock him in jail, sue him, fine him, protest against him, stop his performances. They tried to cancel him before there was cancel culture lol And it didn't do anything to hinder his career, he couldn't be stopped then and can't be stopped now. Idk why he get so much hate from the new generation do bad, if it wasn't for him the censorship wouldn't have been so lenient as it is now. And it's funny Shaq you mentioned the Will Smith line. I think Will proved a few weeks ago there really is a Slim Shady in all of us 🤔
