I would like to add a comment about the saw. After a good amount of use I realized it’s good for small projects... but anything more than 3/4 inches and you will find that it under performs. It’s not powerful enough to cut through hardwoods and has trouble with anything larger than 3/4 inch. Felt like my viewers should know that to set expectations.

I bought this one to see how i liked using one. I didn't expect it to be more than what it is. It has shown me that a 500 buck and up unit is in my future.

How accurate is the blade drift? Can you make 6-12” cuts against the fence and have a nice flat glue surface edge?

@@brettfalgoust1596 not at all. Drift is really bad on this saw. At least wirh the stock blade. Haven't tried a aftermarket higher quality blade

Hey so I have the same saw ,can you do a video on how to adjust the barring ? For some reason both of my bearings sit off center . I want her the guy last name snodgrass and how he adjust the barring and I'm not sure if it's my saw or if I'm not doing something correct . This is my first time working a band saw of any kind ever ☺️ so if you could take a look at the barrings on your saw that would be very helpful thanks . And good video for the unboxing

The rear thrust bearings? If the blade sits on these rear ball bearings slightly off center, don't worry about it. If the blade wears a line in the surface of the bearings, you can unscrew and flip the bearings to get a new surface.
If the blade sits way too close to the right side of the thrust bearings where it can potentially slip over the side, you can unscrew the bolts holding the bearings, then add a washer under the bearings to shim them farther out to the right. If your blade sits too close to the left side of the bearings, then you're kinda up a creek. But you're more likely to have the former problem. They're gonna be fabbed to err in this direction, on purpose.
You can drill a hole in the side of the lower cabinet, so you can stick the allen key in there to unscrew only the lower thrust bearing. That will save you from having to remove and reinstall the entire lower guide assembly. Kinda like the factory hole that's there so you can unscrew the entire lower guide. Just add another hole.
The side guides are adjustable left/right. The blade won't sit exactly in the center of the side guide arms, but that's totally ok. The Wen bandsaw is built to a budget. It's built to work perfectly, not to look perfect.

I am having a hard time finding this bandsaw locally. I hate to order stuff like this. I wonder how this compares to the Shop Fox 9 in. Benchtop Bandsaw Model #W1878. I can't get this bandsaw and considering the Shop Fox bandsaw which is more expensive. HomeDepot has it now for $289 which is more than this Wen bandsaw but manageable. I can't find a review of the Shop Fox w1878.

How loud is this when cutting wood? I live in a community area and want to keep the noise levels reasonable, if it's no louder than a blender I'll probably pick one up

I bought it for small projects. Have a few small pieces of purpleheart to trim (3” long cuts 1” thick) do you think it won’t work for this?

Would love to hear advice on a new blade for mine. I just got mine a couple weeks ago and have been cutting out axe handles from green Hickory and Pecan and feel the blade is going dull. It seems to wander a bit too. I really like it and am sure it will lead to a bigger and better unit.

Man, this is the third or fourth video I’ve seen that quotes the price as $120.00. Best I can find is $168.00. Maybe it has gone up $40 in a very short time or you found it on sale. Guess I’ll keep an eye out for the $120. Thanks for the video.
