A garage I used to work at, we had an elderly man that used to bring his peugeot 405 in for a clutch every 6 months, always burnt out. We did it for years. We used to sell repaired salvage, and when he wanted a new car he asked us to choose him something suitable from our stock. We were underneath a lot of them seeing how difficult the clutch was to change. We decided on a Mazda Demeo as it looked nice and easy, and 6 months later I got to confirm how easy it was!!

Many comments about the flywheel looking shagged on here for so low mileage so I
thought I'd put you all in the picture!
The Nissan Junk and the Renault Crapture 1.5 dci are one of the same. I have a
Crapture that has eaten 2 DMFs and clutches and my car has 40K on it!!
The fault is a well known on these and generally they are shagged again in about
8K miles! Yes you did read it right! 8K miles!!!
    Have a look around here.

      @WMCS  Před 3 lety

      That is shocking indeed.
shame something like a DMF can give the whole thing a bad name.
This particular one was just under 15k miles.
So I thought genuine parts rather than patented ones.
Sometimes they supersede the parts if there’s any faults.
But still bad form from the engineers.

I have a 2017 Juke with 80k (1.5dci) and the clutch is just starting to judder. Tempted to go with a solid flywheel as £300 cheaper, have my reservations but a few in the trade report no problems at all with these kits

@@WMCS but it isn't necessary, you can get to what you need on top of the box from the wheel arch once you drop it off the mount?
Only reason I ask is I did one the other day, I looked on auto data and it says just shy of 5 hours to do clutch and flywheel
My colleague said only way to do it is taking subframe off
I was looking at it thinking do I have to take it all the way out or just sit it on the frame?
Anyway he has far more experience than me and is right most of the time so I did what he said and I was about 6 hours taking everything off the top as well as subframe out to fully remove the box in the end thinking nah surely there's a better way lol
Was hoping to study how you do it so next time we get one in I'll do it that way and call him a lying old cunt ;) 😂
