      I listened to that album as an adult (after hearing WASP as a kid) and I was completely blown away!! It was like sections of an opera or other classical piece. A masterpiece, like you claimed. And sadly overlooked.

    I'm glad that you're doing this tribute! Another former member of WASP died this year, Bob Kulick, brother to KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick. He did the incredibly beautiful guitar solo on "The Idol" by WASP, I hope you check that one out as well since it's one of their most beautiful ballads! He actually played guitar on this very album that you're listening to here as well which is very fitting!

      I think Bob Kulick also did the guitars on Meat Loaf's Bad Attitude album (1984) - perhaps the most "metal" album you'll ever hear from Meat Loaf, probably due to, in no small part, Bob's guitarwork.

    This album was a Blackie solo album, it wasn't supposed to be released under the WASP name but Blackie was legally obligated to do it so Frankie technically was never a member of WASP. That said this album has easily his best drumming and is a huge reason why it's one of my all time favourite albums. That and Blackie's always awesome vocals.

    @BlackieNuff Před 3 lety +1

    This entire album got a makeover/do-over in 2017, re-branded as "Re-Idolized"... with Blackie's new Christian faith, he went back and "cleaned it up" (lyrically at least), and added some extra tracks - which are quite good (one of which appeared on the previous release Golgotha in 2015). I imagine he did it, probably cos this essentially serves as his "autobiographical" album (though he denies that assertion, stating only there are similarities between himself and "Jonathan").
    My biggest gripe about the new version is all the profanity was "PG-ed" to cleaner terms and language. Weak sauce in my opinion. While the new tracks are great I still prefer the original release for the truer, rawer depiction of the story. The new version is more emotive and almost "spiritual".
    My only compliant of both versions is that those little acoustic "interludes" were not isolated as their own tracks. (I had to do it myself, lol)
