One of my good friends showed me this. He passed a few years ago and this is a pleasant reminder of his constant joy and ambition. The only person I’ve known to truly care about EVERYONE. I wish he could’ve changed the world the way he changed me. Love you Brother, rest easy
2 minutes into this song at 2 am and I saw my 7th shooting star of the night. I had only seen one in my life before this night. I believe in the good things coming. Thank you brother bear. ♥️
My friend showed me this and it changed my life guys. Thanks for the medicine. I was at my lowest low and this beautiful angel of a person helped me. I have been inspired again when I thought hope was lost. Someone cared enough about me to think of me when they heard this. And it brought me out of my cave.
i've never heard such a song to match my life. I love that it shows gratitude to those who have helped along the way. the trials and tribulations of life, the ones we disappoint, the ones we inspire. such is life. beautiful
Nahkos music has kept me shining through my dark times also friend. Hope all is well. Just remember, with every gift comes a curse, all that matters is which aspect you chose to focus on. I had a chance to meet him at high sierra music fest 2015, and his presence was inspiring to say the least.
I have a similar experience. Reading this comment gave me some more hope with it's feeling of validation haha Thank you for sharing your sweet memory linked to this song. Somehow the medicine and this wonderful, human-instrument kind of an angel, takes me out of any cave i find myself stuck in as well. (:
I was in a dark place when I begun listening to this album again. And alls I have to say it’s been a journey. But every lyric rings true. Can’t say how or why ... the People you meet ... every thing , has purpose a meaning. Even in the lost times. Funny how then I was considered “saved” but was as lost as can be. Finally I sense I’m found and it’s me ... 😁😁😁
I just discovered Nahko recently and I can't get enough. I've always loved all kinds of music, but none has ever grabbed my soul by the ear and dragged me to the mirror and made me feel real and alive again . Thank You Nahko for sharing your gift .
I saw a dualsport motorcycle on base last year with the quote "catch a swell, catch a wave, to another inspiring place..." Written on it. Just decided to look it up thinking it was a quote but actually from a great song. Love it
The Magic Pill, a Netflix documentary brought me to this song. It’s such a beautiful song! I’m so glad I came across it. I really put me in such a whole different mood & perspective. Everyone goes through something & we only know our own stories. Anyone reading this, I’ve probably been through worse and still am, but know that whatever struggles you have, know that we’re all coming out of our caves. Days will get better. It’s all about being positive and continue to move forward with our heads help up high & both feet planted to the ground.
the magic pill is such a load of crap lmao. keto was designed for epileptic kids and short-term weight-loss. all else is just placebo effect and health problems. Also meat is literally wrecking our planet. stop peddling pseudoscience. there is no dietary "magic pill."
+Haisu Husky he is talking about everyone being united under one global consciousness. and people's third eyes are finally being opened. that's what I'm getting out of it lol
I swear, if more people listened to this music and took the lyrics of this song to heart, then maybe just maybe mother earth would start to repair. Today is my first day listening to this group in particular, but it’s like the lyrics have been in my heart all along
had a mom who was obsessed with Nahko and remembering this song from my childhood along with budding trees it’s honestly so nostalgic to listen to these again
Going through Netflix looking for a documentary to watch and decided on one called "The Magic Pill". This song started playing during the end credits and it took my breath away. Never heard it before and in fact, never heard of Nahko. Once Google identified the song for me, went straight to Amazon and ordered three of his CD's. Not sure if he has any more out but if so, I'm sure I'll buy those too.
Update: So I went onto Amazon and purchased 3 of his CD's. Turns out this is the only song I really care for. Maybe it's the oversaturation of "America is a horrible place" and "capitalism sucks" message throughout his playlist. While he sells his CD's for a profit. CD's made using eco and environmentally unfriendly plastic, I might add. Still like this one song by Nahko. But a little Nahko goes a long way.
You...have a CD player? For someone mentioning environmentally friendliness, it seems like going digital *mp3* would have crossed your mind before continuing the demand by buying more CD's. It's not my business what kind of music you like, but respect for Nahko who is motivated enough to get paid for using his gift and opening up a dialogue about issues important to him. Hope you find a way to enjoy those 3 CD's.
@@noahcompton3266 I'm not against cd players, plastic, or whatever. But if you're gonna preach to others about being environmentally conscious and one with the land as Nahko does, it's kind of hypocritical to put that message on paper and plastic, don't you think? Maybe it is Nahko that should ONLY offer his music in environmentally friendly formats if he wants to be consistent. Also, since capitalism is so evil in his eyes, maybe he should forego taking money for his music. As it stands, it appears he doesn't practice what he preaches. His hypocrisy makes Nahko the Michael Moore of music.
I was at a music festival last summer and I found myself at the campsite where the fire dancers were and they did a dance to this song and it was by far the most peaceful moment I’ve ever had.
First time listening. Brought me to tears, in a great way... I have struggled with severe alcoholism the past five years, the darkest time of my life but I am 50 days sober and I feel amazing. I am the happiest I’ve been in almost ten years. Have an amazing day
the beauty in this makes one laugh, cry, wonder, and shoving all at the same time and my soul has been hovering over this artist. I am in the composition of love
Real music real meaning and really deep in my heart and soul .Thankyou so much for being you, and for being medicine in my darkest hours, making me see purpose and reason to move forward ,you are pure power, pure magic and pure passion. Saying Thankyou just aint enough. Cheers, me.
Crazy reading and agreeing with some of the comments. There's an amazing Doco available for viewing here in Austrlia and New Zealand called the Magic Pill. At the end they play this song. Well I'm a grown man but I had tears in my eyes listening to this and can't say why. The sound just moved me. Now I'm playing it on the guitar changed the words to sing it to my mokopuna (grand child). Magic

OMG. this is life. Going on repeat immediately.
I know a carpenter
I know a laborer
He is my teacher
He is my brother
I have a neighbor
He is my savior
He doesn't waver
He's a strong believer
I know a business man
He scrapped his business plan
While screaming, "Fuck the man!"
He gave into the land
You're all archetypes
People that I might like to be just like
In a completely different way
And we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
Yes we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
I know a farmer
I know his vision
I know his struggle
I know his hope
I know a futurist
He is an optimist
And he knows a young waitress
And he's trying to coax her
Out of her cave
By smiling, by winking
By saying you know it's good
For us to talk
Ya know, it's good to talk!
I know a father
I loved his daughter
I told him never would
I forsake her
But, I got home too late
From one of my escapades
No woman to face, just a note
That said, "Baby, I've sailed away."
Right out of my cave
Caught a swell
Caught a wave
To another inspiring place
And we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
Yes we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
My friend the bureaucrat
He just accepts all that
Which I cannot accept
Such frustration that I wept
For my friend the taxman
He is my father and
He tallies numbers all day
Yes, he knows his numbers you could say
He taxes income, I asked him
How come?
You know I work hard for every penny...
Don't you think I deserve it all?
Oh the law, the law, the law son...
There are flaws in the law
But, in the end I just answer to God
Boy, I'm just doing my job!
My friend the astronomer
She is a stargazer
I swear they talk to her
Boy, I wish I knew
What they were saying
While I was layin' in her bed
With her chest to my head...
Were our intentions misread?
So I just said it
I said, Baby, I'm a nobody
I ain't got no money!
Just this ambition to tell the people
We are equal, so c'mon, baby
Come out of your cave!
Catch a swell
Catch a wave
To another inspiring place
And we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
Yes we all
We're coming out of our caves
Coming out of our caves
Thanks 👍
