    Excited to get back into home tech reviews! Don't worry thought, I've got a mid-size and compact stroller review coming soon too.

    New perspective for Roomba! We bought the Deebot vacuum/mop series from Costco and it has made our lives much easier for a quick clean. I think having one vacuum and one mop like your set up makes things more simple. Having the all-in-one seemed nice when we bought it, but if we wanted to vacuum AND mop, we’d have to vacuum first and then place the mop pad right after. So much for midnight cleanings here. 😂 I may need to sell this Deebot and go the Roomba route! Great video.

    Thank you for the review! I have an inexpensive one from Amazon that I bought from my sister. She actually upgraded and got a roomba. It’s refreshing to get another person’s perspective on something that I have my eyes on. God bless!

      We had Eufy for about three years and it did well for us. But I eyed the Roomba for a while, and honestly the upgrade from Eufy has been wonderful.

    Great job. We have been looking into getting a Roomba for a while and this definitely helped my wife through the discussion.

      It's been a few weeks out and we're still loving it (other than it being a tad noisy). Definitely still considering making the jump to the i7 for that advanced navigation and mapping.

    Solid video review! I own the Roomba i3 w/ base station and am considering the Braava jet m6 to go along with it. One thing I did want to point out to folks is that since this video was made, iRobot has released a software (or maybe firmware, or both) update that gives the i3 the smart mapping that the higher end i7 and i9's have. As far as I know, it's the exact same mapping now (it looks the same in my iRobot app as it did when you were dividing out the different rooms). This was fairly recent, just in the last couple of months. Anyway, helpful video thank you!

      I just purchased last week and after speaking to a customer service rep, he confirmed that 2 months ago they got an update to match the mapping!

    Fantastic video, very helpful!
    I also have a budget Roomba (for 3 years now), and was hoping to introduce a mopping robot, and wasn't sure whether to go with the iRobot Combo ones (quite pricey) or purchase the i3 and Braava. Your video has helped my decision, thank you!

    Very cool, I wouldn’t recommend vslam though if you actually don’t want furniture to get dinged up. Lidar is more accurate IMO but you can do the virtual walls which takes a lot of time to make it precise without hitting anything

    Awesome video! We have an older Roomba that we bought on Black Friday in 2015. It was great, but we almost never run it since we started having kids because it's stashed away behind a baby gate. Button mashing and playing with the cord are definite problems with the kids! It's also a pin-ball Roomba. We're hoping to get a smarter one, definitely with the docking tower, in our next home when we move next year. Thanks for the awesome review!
    (And while I've found some smart home channels get into the weeds on some things, I have high hopes that you will put out great videos for smart home/parenting!)

      If I could recommend one major upgrade to iRobot, it's to consider more child-lock options because that the biggest issue we have.

    Try the Ecovacs t8 with the ozmo pro mop - that thing vacuums and scrubs your floor simultaneously and it is just 1 machine.

  • @LeeForsythe

    You should check out the Ecovacs Deebot N8+. It’s a LiDAR mapping, auto emptying, vacuum\mop combo beast.

    I’ve already owned my Roomba for months now but anytime I see Andrew upload a new video, I instantly click lol you could upload a video on pokemon pack openings and I’d watch it 😂

    I also put my chairs up. I love my roomba s9. Would love braava too but Im very particular on what product I use for my floor. I use bona floor cleaners and I am not sure if Braava can use it.

    Haven’t tried the vacuum yet but tried the m6 mop, after a few runs the tires started to leave stains, plus our mop couldn’t finish one complete run of living area to map out because of the need to refill the tank, it takes forever to go through the living room.

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  Před 3 lety

      Haven't experienced that tire staining thankfully but yes, I do find myself filling the tank a bit. Schedule-wise we vaccum 2-3 times per week and have the Braava mop once.

    Thank you for this! I’ve been considering replacing my deebot with its random cleaning paths. Super random side note, what is the flooring in your gym, so you like it, and where can I get it?!? I also really want to upgrade our gym floor!

    Is there an option in the app for the Brava M6 to start as soon as the Roomba I3 finishes its job?

  • @DistantEvolution

    How loud is the Braava compared to the Roomba? Very interested in the Braava but if it's anything like the Roomba, may be a tough buy for me imho

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  Před 3 lety

      The Braava is so silent in comparison to the Roobma. Roomba is pretty noisy, not the case with Braava.

      No, but we generally went with the Ferber Method around the 5 month mark when we transitioned to the crib.

  • @happilyG
    @happilyG Před 3 lety

    Does it work for families that rearrange the furniture, since it does do mapping? That’s my only concern, since either we rearrange it or our children do. 😁

    • @dadverb
      @dadverb  Před 3 lety +1

      Yes! The i3 will handle it fine while the i7 would basically remap your home in the app.
