I really enjoyed your professional review. I am in the process of purchasing a more capable scanner. It sounds like you are pleased with this tool.

This is the second review I’ve watched on this specific tool and it comes highly recommended in both. I’ve also looked at the s08 only because I don’t really require the heavy duty aspect of the tool. Are they relatively similar in other respects? I’m a home Diyer and retired Aircraft mechanic and taking courses on all the new automotive electronics. Just a new passion to keep the brain active. I’m a new subscriber and your channel is very informative. Thanks for sharing Artie 👍. Any recommendations where to buy from other than Amazon. Prefer a USA distributor 🇺🇸

The ThinkCar S8 has the same software as the Platinum for automotive applications. I think you picked a fun hobby to keep your brain active because you will never stop learning :) I have a friend who is an authorized supplier for these tools and many others. He provides excellent support and will give you the best deal around. Also, he provides free consultation and tries his best to give you the tool that fits your needs whether it be Autel, ThinkCar, Topdon, etc.
If you would like, feel free to send me an email at k20chad@gmail.com and I can put you in touch with him.

Hello. Is this the same as the Thinkcar Max? If not where did you purchase this from? Is this a US market tool or global?

Can Platinum S20 can do TCM programming?

It can do some programming. Also, the VCI is a J2534 device and can be used with OEM subscriptions. I have programmed some Nissan TCMs with it and it worked. Understand it is risky though.
