    NT4.0 was the best Windows ever. It was bulletproof with no hickups, no crashses. I kept the computer running for years and it never had to bootup due to any problem. If a program was misbehaving, it was simply stopped and removed.

      That's why NT was often used in commercial and industrial environments, it's simplicity and reliability. But for gaming, you needed Win 95, 98 or 98/ME...but those OS had the annoying tendency of crashing suddenly without warning. 💀 Rule number 1 of PC gaming, Save often, Save smart.

    • @paulwblair
      @paulwblair Před 5 měsíci +1

      It was great compared to the DOS based Win9x series, but it didn't have plug and play or support for 3D graphics. If you installed a driver wrong way during setup, you'd sometimes have to reinstall the OS from scratch to fix it. I'm sure there was a fix for those things, but the internet was in its infancy at the time and there weren't as many answers back then.
      I used NT 4.0 for my work desktop for about a year due to the stability but I switched to Windows 2000 as soon as it came out.
