    I just added some Link system to my shop, where I thought I had a lot of Ryobi tools until I saw your videos. I only used a couple of the rails because I am integrating them with the Ryobi storage cabinets. My complaint is that "out of the box" they don't mount well together because the cabinets mount directly to the wall and the Link rail brings everything out near 1.5". It was difficult to find a proper thickness board to use between the cabinet and the wall to try and have them mount evening on the face side. The Link system in simple to use, but it does take up quite a bit of real estate because it is so thick. Might not sound realistic but when you have a narrower work station and then take 1.5" away from it, it makes a difference. Ryobi need to make the universal mount for the Link as you did in one of your other videos. My shelf hooks got bent a bit during installation too. On a lighter note, time to seek some therapy for you battery addiction. Thanks for the great videos

    Good review. I’m looking forward to the toolbox review.

      You won't have to wait long... The toolboxes arrived as I was finishing filming that video. 😊

    I really can't get behind the wall system, but the stackable pack out system is something that grabs my attention. That Legoish design that locks together is something that I kinda dig. I just haven't seen a demo in person as of yet.

    I'd consider the shelves if they improve them... otherwise, It's still a no go system for me personally. Too much money for poor quality. Thanks for your content Logan, as it's truly helpful.

      Considering you have to buy the rails to make the shelf work. It does make for a fairly expensive setup.

      @Solely Ryobi what is the larger tool on top of the tool hanging shelf? I've never seen that, and would like to know what that is

      @@johnnylantern3609 if your referring to the one above his head it's a Ryobi one+ Caulk gun and behind that is their pressure cleaner.

    As you said, combining the two shelves would be a super idea for Ryobi to consider than it would be a definite must buy item for me.

    At the price they charge, the poor-quality hooks are ridiculous.

    Haven't had a chance to see one in person but reviews have been mixed . Might get the pack boxes later on .

    Is definitely over price

    Agreed that the shelves are flimsy. Bendy!!
    I got the more expensive one and returned it the same day. Really thin sheet metal I understand about keeping the price down but it’s intended use requires way more durability. Feels like a prototype.

    I’d like to see a review of the crate and how solidly it mounts to the octo rails and can sustain load. I have one and am not sure I trust it yet.

    I'd rather see them use the lower portion as a sort of rack system for the parts bins that you could slide the bins in and out of. The gaps between the hooks look almost like the perfect size for that.

    At 4:26, what larger tool is that on the tool hanger? I haven't seen that before

    Even before seeing this video the hooks looked puny and unattractive and after seeing this video they are kind of an insult at this price point. Now I wish the hooks were removable like you see on the metal pegboard systems. Overall the shelf seems nice enough to get on its own, just pricey. And at least while these hooks bend left and right, they should still hold whatever you put on them considering the metal is upright, which is more than I can say for the hooks you showed for the tool holder accessory. Now I’m off to watch that video.

    from all the videos i have seen i was exited for the link system but if they don't bring the price down i don't thing i will be getting it because it isn't made to a good quality standard. if the shelves were made stronger and the link boxes were designed better with a clip in removable driver bit holder instead of it been in every box. there are other things i am disappointed on but with ryobi's track record of cheep low quality and poorly thought out design i would rather pay more for the Milwaukee pack out because it is more rugged, has more features, has more options

    I had high hopes for this system. But it is way over priced for what u get quality wise. I’ll stick with my pegboard for now.

    • @SolelyRyobi
      @SolelyRyobi  Před 2 lety

      Yeah, if you already have a system in place it'd be hard to justify this.

    • @brakecheck5354
      @brakecheck5354 Před 2 lety

      I never saw this as a replacement for my pegboard system either. But if I was starting from scratch it would definitely be worth a look and probably preferable to similar wall mount (and expensive) systems like the Rubbermaid offering.

  • @ProxyFinal
    @ProxyFinal Před 2 lety +1

    i would not heavily invest on this system....just cause of that shelf. Probably just a few racks to hang stuff temporarily. I will return that shelf because 50 dollars for something that bends is no good.
