    Just got the hnt26 installed on my 18.5” Tikka 6.5 creedmoor. Your video was very helpful. Super excited to hit the mountains with it. Thanks for posting.

    5:27 On your Chassis I see a recoil lug, which mine doesn‘t have. Where can I get one?

    • @pyrate_nz
      @pyrate_nz  Před měsícem

      For the tikka, it comes pre installed in the chassis. Some other actions you will need to use the factory recoil lug

    Lovely Rig!! Well done.
    How long is your barrel? Did you have it cut down and threaded?
    Thank you for taking the time to make this video! Great job.

      @@pyrate_nz it seems you considered your rifle setup very well. I think about your path often. A lightweight, packable and accurate rifle that is easily supressed.
      Great job considering the surpessor to the stock length.

    Did you have the factory bolt fluted? Or is that an aftermarket spiral fluted bolt?

    • @pyrate_nz
      @pyrate_nz  Před 5 měsíci

      I fluted the factory bolt.

    What rear monopod or rear sand bag is everyone using with this chassis?

    • @pyrate_nz
      @pyrate_nz  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I have not used a mono-pod in years. Just use a simple rear bag from Sabre Tactical. Stay tuned, i will be doing a video on shooting bags soon.

    What company makes that suppressor?

    I noticed you didn't install the recoil lug, is it not necessary?

      New Recoil lug comes preinstalled from MDT

    Hello Sir!
    Since you mentioned "balance": I have a similar shortened Tikka T3x (17" barrel) and I found the OEM Tikka plastic stock already too light in the rear. So my rifle ended up being quite front heavy with the suppressor attached (310 grams). So I put the barrelled action into a Tikka T3 laminated stock (second hand) to counterweigh the suppressor.
    How is the balance of your setup in the MDT chassis?
    BTW: it looks awesome! 👍
    Cheers, K.

      Thanks, im very happy with the setup. So mine balances perfectly with the balance point under the front action screw. this is with a loaded aics 3 round mag. Now i have a superlite tikka so the barrel is fluted and i have had the bolt done too, scope is a bit heavier that most too.

      @pyrate_nz Thanks for your response! In fact I have a regular non-fluted barrel. So I went the route with the laminated stock.
      Looking forward for some range footage of your setup! 👍
      Thanks! K.

      @@pyrate_nz what barrel length do you run? It looks like a sub 13inch?

    • @pyrate_nz
      @pyrate_nz  Před 10 měsíci

      16 and a bit. suppressor is an overbarrel

    • @kamilklein2880
      @kamilklein2880 Před 10 měsíci

      @pyrate_nz Yeah! The Kiwis have "unusually" long and slender suppressors that reach a long ways backwards over the barrel. Here in Europe/ Germany they usually reach back 10 cm/4". Seems to be a good bit more on those in NZ. Right?
