I feel for you Olly. Yesterday a hot, sunny intervals kind of day very muggy. I was pulling ragwort for 8 hrs. Here's today pi55ing with rain. I'm in Dorset. I hate this climate.
@@andrewwatson1698A previous boss of mine, when he first started farming was told to go on holiday for a week when his barley was fit!! He did so and when he came back home over half the heads were on the deck!! So from then on he always started before it was really fit. He spent a fair bit on drying it, but we always got it in the grain store in good time!!
Good to see the combines starting to roll, I could smell the barley ask you were cutting it, harvest smells never leave you. been dry here (Elgin - Scotland) although rain was forecast.
No rain here and I believe around 95% humidity, temperature low 40’s but that is Abu Dhabi. 99% today, we had a chat with the company due to build our new yacht, everything is going really well.

Hi olly, we had rain in cornwall , it's good to see you out in the combine making a start. Today I was a local agricultural show, one big dealer was worried at what way agricultural is going to to go with regards to the new government. As he said they hold a lot of money in stock.🤔

Nice work Olly, you've got some good choices for the 2025 calendar shots from that video. PS: You deffo need to go for a colour change on those weight blocks. I'd go with a wrap, 1: Easier to get an accurate colour match plus. 2: You could fancy it up how you would like it because it's computer generated. Saves the hassle of painting or signwriting. 😉👍. Blue sky warm and dry till late afternoon in Preston then got fine drizzle and a short series of showers. Good job I got the washing out on the line, dried and back in before it started. 👌.
Great to see the combine out. Was cool seeing the live aswell. We had light spits of rain in dublin. If it rains an inch will you have to shake the straw out then row it up again before bailing. Great video as always. 95% today

Warm sunny start, light shower at lunchtime and then cloudy for the rest of the day in West Suffolk. Get the barley straw baled and in the dry, reckon its going to be worth a fair bit this winter.
Wet as an otters pocket here in Dorset, but managed to get the hay in on Friday with minutes to spare! Need to rethink weather sources, despite them covering all base's, they still get it wrong.. barley is looking good sir! 😊

Hi Olly , I have always said to myself if I was mad enough to go back , “ I retired in 1997 age 55 “ I would go into Fendt instead of John Deere . All best for a reasonable harvest considering the atrocious conditions you’ve had to work with . I live on the west coast of Ireland now , and drive across to the U. K. Northamptonshire , so not too far from you before I head down the M56 /M6 , so might go north a bit and call in . All the best Olly .

Stafford area started raining about 3.30 and is still lashing down now very heavy rain at that as for the weight block I think a rap would be best as it’s easy to change the colour in the future stay 💪
The front weight looks good but doesn't match the black Fendt, as you said. Wrap the front weight black and do the same with the Valtra while your at it. Started off sunny this morning then started spitting mid afternoon then heavy rain late afternoon aand is still raining now. NE Derbyshire. Drying cost for combining in the rain, I suppose it 's a trade off

Wrap it - gives you the option to revert back to original colour in future should you need/want to.

Olly , black oats make the best porridge , and you can also roast them and use as a coffee substitute... You need to try it 💯

Hi Olly, combine looks great and the Fendt along side even better. I think you should wrap the front weight box 🚜🚜
There is a 4wd switch but it's a trans axle diff lock in a menu. Switch from auto to 100%. It's in the DEF menu, in trans settings.

love those 728's on the trailer & the drill. no winter barley on our farm this year. we have sold some of our land & rented out the rest.
