  • Join Tony from BikeBerry as he explores the differences between mag wheel sets, HD wheel sets, and standard cruiser wheels for motorized bicycles. This video is perfect for riders looking to understand which wheel type best suits their needs.
Tony begins by comparing the spoke thickness of HD and standard wheel sets, revealing that HD wheels have significantly thicker spokes, indicating greater durability. He uses a micrometer to measure the spoke thickness, confirming that HD wheels have 10 gauge spokes compared to the 12 gauge spokes of standard wheels.
He then discusses the importance of sidewalls for those who prefer caliper brakes and demonstrates how to mount a rear sprocket on HD wheels. Tony also shows a combo approach using a sprocket adapter for more adjustability and the option to use larger billet aluminum sprockets.
For riders who forget to order rim tape, Tony suggests using heavy-duty duct tape as an alternative. He also highlights the benefits of narrower rims, like preventing chain slap against the tire, as seen with wider rims.
HD hubs are praised for their simplicity and reliability, eliminating the need for coaster brake mechanisms. Tony also showcases the mag wheel sets, known for their straightness, low maintenance, and disc brake compatibility. He emphasizes their light weight and variety of color options, making them a stylish choice.
The video concludes with Tony advocating for upgrading from standard cruiser rims to either HD or mag wheel sets for enhanced performance and style. He invites viewers to subscribe and ask any questions in the comments.

I would love a set off the Mag rims, But not until they are made out of the Plastic like they make for BMX bikes. Magnesium has a tendency to crack or shatter if you hit hard bumps, They do stay true though that's something. Great video as always Tony, Keep up the great work.

Just bought a set for my 100CC build. Not being a smart ass but they call them mags because they are made from magnesium. I've heard about fiber glass rims but plastic I'd like to see that. I'm a bit salty, my rim fell apart trying to convert it to a sprocket drive. I broke down and bought the mags. I plan to seriously use my build this summer.

can you make a video installing the disk brakes I bought some cheap adapters off amazon since my bike didn't have the horizantal dropouts and had to modify them to actually grasp my disk (it was to high and was only grabbing 1/8 of an inch on the disk so I had to cut it and weld it lower so it could grab the disk) if you can like do multiple types of adapters that would be something I'd like to see but great video thumbs up

1-1/4” sprocket mount adapter. It’s worked really well on cruiser frames.

The mags are great rims i have a 212cc micargi stretch beach cruiser the puma and i tore the sprocket off the hub, pulled the 6 screws right out of tje hub, kinda my fault , drag racing hard on em eh, fast take offs. you got to keep checking those 6 LITTLE screws even with thread lock on them they will eventually vibrate loose and if they or any of them gets loose it'll pull the sprocket off the hub, make a mess of it. other than that they are great rims and I've hit potholes ,good ones, actually had stop and check the bike and everything fine, hit a curb once brake fail and no damage..i still using mag on the front, i running 24" spoke on the back now ,(busted mag) with a 24" x 3.0 tire, it wore it's self in best kind, was a little rubbing, that wore away and after a chain cleaning everything best kind..lol.
I like the spoke they wider rims mags only 1.95 great for the front
