Demo song for my EUWAVE sound driver for the NES. No expansion audio was used -- just the five 2A03 channels. Audio recorded from hardware by Forple. .nes ROM: www.dropbox.co...
it depends on multiple factors- different volume levels have different cpu loads. mute audio takes almost none. wavetables on 25% volume take the most cpu. raw pcm playback is the second least expensive mode. i would say on average it takes about half of the time, but i would need to measure
A few questions 1- if there were some kind of buffer ram, how fast could it run? 2- does it need a MMC or any other chip with a cicle counter or is a stock NES just fine?
when the PCM hits :
7-bit PCM moment
woah, it sounds almost like a gameboy!
really cool - impressive sound for the 2A03
about how much cpu time does this use in a frame?

This doesn't sound like it came out of a NES, it sounds like it came out of a modern synth :o
