    Can you guys upload some of these Kung fu kicks in action. Or suggest some links to look up. In Muay Thai there are a million videos demonstrating their power and the damage they can do, in fights, on the street, on the heavy bag etc, but I can’t seem to find anything, except for class demonstrations like what you guys do. Thanks

    Jason gave me some really good advice about how to land the three knuckle landing vertical fist punch which made things a lot easier so I appreciate him for doing that thank you Jason

    You can use the gan sau with his kick if you pivot and move with his arc to have less kick power. In your example that would be a diagonal movement right and you can strike him before his foot touches the ground. You can also deflect as you move straight into attacker, inside the kick arc where it has less power.
    I think sifu has described 7 wing chun kicks, some are downward stomps, some quick slap or trip, also the push and lift kick. We also can add the round kick, a natural human motion and what the Jow Ga, Muay Thai, karate folks use.

      I’ve seen people use the GAANG that way. But think about it right. We have so many other counters so why would that one be real. A hand action on a foot?

    I don't believe in Wing Chun very much, but so far the kicks really make sense to me. I'm currently doing karate and those head kicks just don't make a a lot of sense. I did BJJ and MMA before Karate, and the want to rush in on the guy kicking high and clinching them is always on my mind. Kick low.

    On the example of the Kuan Sau/ Gahn Sau against the round house kick not being a good idea. It's not a fighting technique, its just a drill to emphasis certain Wing Chun principles that can later on be applied to fighting applications.

    I appreciate this one because I've watched a lot of Dominick Izzo's videos and he personally doesn't favor kicks. I'm not sure if he has a strong knowledge of them... I usually watch his hand work. He just says he doesn't like them. He's a police officer so controlling hands is important to his job and Wing Chun has to be a great art for any law enforcement personnel to consider learning. I also hear arguments for BJJ. I think our best martial artists should be our law enforcement and health care providers, not our movie stars.

    • @mightymeatmonsta
      @mightymeatmonsta Před 6 lety

      Dominic Izzo, though a nice guy and an ex-police officer, knows very little about real wing chun. I wouldn't use him as an example of wing chun because he uses the modified version, which is incomplete, missing crucial elements, like proper footwork, proper way to close the distance, and he DOES NOT use the ten concepts (MAYBE he uses 5 of ten). The concepts are crucial as well, because they dictate proper response in a fight, take out ALL INITIAL FLAWS found in boxing derivative systems, like not keeping your hands in the center, over committal of a response, putting most or all the weight on the front leg, and going past center, to name a few. But for the system to work PROPERLY and most EFFICIENTLY, YOU MUST USE ALL TEN CONCEPTS AT ONCE! Even taking one out, like the triangle in the stance, weakens the structure, sacrificing speed and power and diminishing technique effectiveness. You are better off with either a REAL traditional wing chun like Grandmaster Cheung or Master Phillip Redmond. Even Wong Shun Leung's system is better. His system comes from the GIANT FRAUD and SHYSTER of wing chun, LEUNG TING, who couldn't fight his way out of a wet paper bag!

    • @mightymeatmonsta
      @mightymeatmonsta Před 4 lety

      @4121Z0N4 Why would I want to FAKE FIGHT for money? Traditional wing chun is a STREET DEFENSE, not a FAKE FOR MONEY! Let's see them go up against a REAL STREET FIGHTER! I can BET they wouldn't last ONE MINUTE because the street fighter, ESPECIALLY a traditional wing chun fighter, would end it quickly!

    • @mightymeatmonsta
      @mightymeatmonsta Před 4 lety

      @4121Z0N4 That IS sports fighting! I'm talking about REAL fighting! We in traditional wing chun practice REAL SCENARIOS, not fake ones as in the ring! I have NEVER EVER seen someone using gloves in the streets, a temperature-controlled environment, having a referee, doctors-on-call, and a VIDEO THEY CAN VIEW OF THEIR OPPONENT'S STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES, have you? Sure, they MAY be able to beat someone with little or no skills, but up against a REAL STREET FIGHTER, they are done! Just as the video of those MMA guys going against our well-trained armed forces, they don't stand a chance in hell! Let's see them go up against someone with a weapon or multiple opponents! They wouldn't last ONE MINUTE! In traditional wc, we train REAL SCENARIOS thousands of times to make sure the response in IMMEDIATE and AUTOMATIC, unlike you MMA GUYS, that train several hundred times before pressure testing it. Your response is not yet in muscle memory, so when you tire or get hurt, your response will CHANGE, and that will give your opponent an opening he needs to finish your ass off! We make sure that we have a response ready by doing the drills thousands of times, which puts these responses into muscle memory even before we pressure test it, allowing us to have this automated response.

    • @mightymeatmonsta
      @mightymeatmonsta Před 4 lety

      @4121Z0N4 That IS sports fighting! I'm talking REAL fighting using REAL scenarios, not fake ones you find in the ring! I have never seen ANYONE on the streets with gloves on, in a CONTROLLED environment, with referees and DOCTORS-ON-CALL, and can view their opponent on VIDEO, have you? That is NOT REAL! And before you ramble on about SAFETY, THAT IS MY POINT! THERE IS NO SAFETY NET IN THE STREETS, so if you are unfamiliar with a certain scenario, it will take longer to get a response ready, allowing your enemy to get the best of you and EVEN KILL YOU! That is why we practice basic scenarios and some alternatives until we have an IMMEDIATE and AUTOMATIC response!! Let's see ANY stupid MMA guy, boxer, or jiu jitsu guy go up against a weapon, ANY WEAPON, or even against MULTIPLE OPPONENTS! THEY WOULDN'T LAST ONE MINUTE! We, on the other hand, train weapons and multiple opponents, along with REAL SELF DEFENSE, which is lacking in all boxing derivative systems that are sports-oriented. Sure, they MAY work against the unskilled or moderately skilled, but a REAL street fighter would DESTROY any of them, much like the MMA guys going against our armed forces. The MMA guys got DESTROYED in no time, which is EXACTLY what would happen on the streets!!

    • @mightymeatmonsta
      @mightymeatmonsta Před 4 lety

      Dominic Izzo? LOL, he doesn't even know enough wing chun to teach it properly! He and his COUSINS are clowns who don't know the REAL TRADITIONAL WING CHUN! He is nice enough guy and an EX-police officer, but I wouldn't train with him! I would rather train Wong Shun Leung's system, or better yet, find a TRADITIONAL WING CHUN MASTER OR GRANDMASTER who knows the whole system!

    JKD is way more efficient and effective than Wing Chun.

  • @mightymeatmonsta
    @mightymeatmonsta Před 6 lety +1

    It's amazing how you keep saying "wing chun" when you don't even know the first thing about it! The same goes for the forms as well! They don't do forms in JKD, so how would you know about the forms or how they apply in REAL battle? JKD uses VERY LITTLE WING CHUN, and it uses the crappy MODIFIED WC as well, which is incomplete, stiff and rigid. And this only APPLIES when you are using the wing chun portion of JKD ONLY! So tell me now, how is it you are an automatic expert on something that MAYBE uses 20 percent wing chun? Oh, and by the way, the wing chun kick is more of a stomping movement, where you raise the knee and then stomp down, dropping the body slightly to add more power to the kick.

      Also using the legs to block oncoming kicks is a great part of real Wing Chun!
