I think people fail to realize that prices will continue to go lower the more that is staked. All L2s are scalable. A lot of these people that have fees over $100 worth of eth comes from swapping into coins that are new or are shit and don't have any liquidity. There is times where there is high traffic and causes high gas fees but eth is scalable and went the safety before speed route. ETH has proved it's security is secure. Now we are seeing ETH focus on speed. ETH backed by BTC will always I believe be the center of DEFI and hopefully gets its fair share of all other markets that could adopt this technology. not much to say here, Ethereum isnt able to produce scaleable apps without sacrificing decentralization on an L2
Solana came out the winner in cost, speed, and scalability all while still supporting smart contracts and tokens because it was designed this way from the beginning, ethereum was a great stepping stone from bitcoin but it’s time to move on to more modern and better things. You shouldn’t have to depend on an L2 for fast or cheap transactions.
My friend did a Solana transfer with me next to him, It was CONFIRMED in less than 2 seconds (by the time we were able to open the link) and the transaction fee was $0.001 (yes your read that right)

On a basic level. Everything made above the base layer is usually trash. Maybe 1 or 2 things may work long term but they won’t be the shiny thing on the block most likely something that needs simple “Mercel” tree (don’t know how to spell it) functionality. And low cost to write straight to disk.

Er. You might wanna check the Nakamoto coefficient, Eth has become way more centralized now due to protocols like Lido holding masses of staked Eth - Eth is 2 and Solana is around 23.

@cecilybumtrinket1986 these were the fees to send Eth from my Metamask to an exchange to sell not that long ago.

The Eth network is infinitely slower and more expensive than many of its opponents and has been for years.

My only suggestion would be to branch out from Eth more and get involved in other alt goins with good tech attached to them - plant your eggs in more baskets.
I started gaining more profit when I started that strategy and when I lose money, I generally lose significantly less.

FWIW, what I meant was that I've mostly been stacking, not trading (so, not "mostly stacking ETH", just "mostly stacking"). ETH is about 10% of my portfolio and I feel pretty good about the rest of my bags (if anything, I'm prob *too* diversified). I do for real need more experience actually 'using' all this amazing new tech. Aside from a few staking pools (and accumulation), I barely move my assets. I only got hip to crypto 3-yrs ago and am super psyched to be taking profits soon :)
