"If you didn't like it, keep it to yourself"
Made the whole video worth watching 😂😂
Anyone truly upset about these videos/issues has never personally built something on this level. Their opinion is irrelevant.
I'm not upset about a guy ruining a perfectly good e46., I'm upset about not learning anything new/interesting because they appear having no clue about what they are doing. I'll go back to watching E539 restorations
Daniel piss off back to the hole you crawled out of..
I don't think many people have built anything on this level man
@@Wargeneralguy its not that special, people been swapping engines on 3series by the tousands for decades. Swaps that work and are long term reliable are not that common altough. Its not just the money spent on parts, it's the craftmanship and the reliability that makes it special, and on that subject they seem to be lacking
@@danielpedro77 E539 Restorations is basically about stock BMW restorations and has nothing to do with Customization which is what this channel is about!!
Phil has spent his life customising cars and knows that it takes time and money to develop. If you don't get this why are you here??
These are videos that we love from you Phil. Always show the ups and downs of building crazy outrageous cars. Keep at it mate!
Thanks, will do!
Was epic to see the cars at Gravity boys, sadly I couldn't find either of you to say hi!
Grateful for all content thank you!
Always nice to have a little update 👌
Always a joy guys 👍 to see you working on the beast ! Still can’t get over that work of art in the headers, what a piece of engineering 🔥🔥. Nice to watch an update , looking forward to more content 👍.
Seeing this in the metal for the first time on Saturday, it really is quite a thing!! I kept coming back to see it again, the level of detail on your cars is amazing. Seeing the real difficulties of building something like this is a much more interesting video than any other CZcams nonsense!
I love it! Even though you didn't sort out the issues with the uneven running, this car is too good. Hopefully there will be more V10 videos soon!
Thanks for sharing your ups and downs. It's a dose of reality to counterbalance the fake world of CZcams!
Lol how hard can it be lol Great to see the highs and lows. Keep up the good work and projects!
Yas I knew I pulled a sicky from work today for a reason another awesome driftworks video
As an E46 M3 owner in the states, this is the most intriguing thing on CZcams! Wild build that looks stock - love this!
We don't always need happy endings, this type of content is more relatable and reminds us that even folks we admire struggle with their builds. Keep up the great work, I love this type of content.
Fantastic looking car and the engine bay is jawdropping!😍
Nice to ser you both in good sprit even though the car is messing with you! 🤗🤙
Keep up the vids ! Love seeing the ups and downs. Can't be doing with other channels false jeopardy bollocks.
Of course it's worth putting out! I vote for getting cylinder 2 and 7 banging off like they should. After all, a V10 is only a V10 with 10 firing holes.
That is priority. Leak down and compression. Sounds like top end noise
You are keeping your promise of it being on the back burner and that is awesome. As a BMW fan I'm just patiently waiting for the day we get to see it driving again.
Once again a honest title, thank you!
Keep it up guys, very enjoyable 😀
Without lows there's no highs. Thank you for putting that video out !
Love the content Phil, nice RWB badge in your tool drawer 😉
I too will be working on my project car THIS year. This is the way.
Project cars, especially as a home mechanic, take forever and cost way, way, way more than the initial numbers suggest. Anyone that thinks otherwise has simply never had a project car. Keep it up lads!
I love thos build everything will work out eventually
Can't wait to hear it rip.
Really appreciate you guys sharing.... at least it's not just me who has gremlins and problems ;)
Good seeing your cars at gravity actually like watching problem and fixing videos so can sometimes learn more or know not the only 1 struggling with car issues constantly
I agree... I prefer a 14 minute video about "we mounted a new control mount" over a 45 minute "start to finish rebuild-speedrun"
This is real car guy shit. Things dont work out, you have a laugh about it and make a plan. Love it
That manifold is a work of art... ❤
Thought of Adam as soon as I saw the ‘adapted’ exhaust. Safe to say, finding the starting point can be one of the hardest things.
amazing looking exhaust stuipd idea but really well made
What was the source of the big spark by the throttle bodies at 6:56 ??
It will be done when its done. 💯👍🏻
Thank you
I don't remember but I'k going to assume you've checked the injectors. I like that you put out these videos. They make it all the more intteresting when you find the issue.
We have. We'll get to the bottom of it 👍
I'm not the biggest Donut Media fan, but I like their "cars are pain" statement. Make a lot of sense if you've worked on cars, even stock ones.
Hey guys, great video as always, already can't wait for the next one.
One question, what's that hissing sound when Jay let's off the accelerator at around 9:53? Mine does the same but it's N52 engine. Thanks in advance
I swear every time you try to do something great you get knocked back to square one by the time its all finished. Heck if the job is easy it feels so wrong you have to take it apart again to make sure you did it right anyway. I feel for you guys, wish you luck.
Great content! That beautiful 46 needs time and love, it will be incredible once finished. Not a fan of the wheels but that’s just my opinion, the car still looks stunning, but that’s nothing to how it will sound on full gas ❤ please don’t put it on the back burner, everyone loves this car!
man i love this car..i hope i don't die before this car is completed...i would not die in peace. lol i love the wheels too!
This isn´t TV. It´s interesting to see the progress regardless of the process concluding with a nice achievement or just more questions 👌
What was the arcing spark around 6.56? Can't be good if something like a earth is loose
What was the spark at 6:55?
holy shit that sharpie draw though
It'd be interesting to understand potential engine bay temp benefits to having the manifolds on top with a well vented bonnet
Omg i just checked yesterday if there was any update !
That little look at the rear driver side before looking at the battery really showed how amazing the fitment is! Looks so good, wish someone built something like this where I live
I had some project cars over the years & i know how hard it is to find issues in new swap specially when its not typical swap
I enjoy this as much as success stories. It is what it is. Wanna hear about my V12 ordeal of getting three Weber 36DCS carbs to run right in a world where jets haven't been manufactured for those since the 70's, and in a world forcing me to use f'ing E10 fuel?
I'm on board with this thing. It's fun to watch. Share the pain lol.
That ecu does have wideband sensors.
That's a pectel wide band, ntk type if I remember. There is no need to change that ecu or loom!
Mid engine it still driving the rear? Fuel tank up front in the engine bay. Lose that lovely exhaust and fit another custom set?
I litteraly saw all the cars drive past me on stockfield road last week 😂
Only just found your channel saw the exhaust and subscribed IMMEDIATELY! LOL 😂 EXCELLENT job lads! Being a massive BMW fan and also fan of V12 and V10 motors especially with "That sound" looks phenomenal and could tell by the pipes it was going to sound amazing before I heard the clip of it on the track which probably don't do it justice.. looking forward to following the build as this is like a dream of mine to have or build a V12, (or V10 falling that)..
Cheers from London 👍
Welcome aboard! 👍
Where did the big spark come from in the middle of the v on first start? Could it be an earthing problem?
Thats what i thought.
when are you releasing merch for this car! we need that!
Once we've worked out a few more engine bits we'll do something cool.
Project cars are 50% pain... still love seeing updates though, even with no happy ending.
Only 50%? Let me at a project that's that easy
Still getting my like
uni-t uti260b is a reasonable thermal camera that would let you see those header temps far better in real time
We've got a snap on one. This is easier in this situation.
You can just see Jay wants to wire in a new Ecumaster Pro 16 🤣🤣
It is hard to say that I love the headers as piece of craftsmanship, but I hate its application. First, It covers up that beautiful v10 and then the amount of heat it's going to put by the fuel rail, intake, brake master, etc.. There is an experssion in writing that says, "Kill your darlings..." Sometimes the ideas you love can hinder or ruin a story, or rather a project in this case. Obviously, that is my subjective viewpoint at least on the aesthetics part.
but its great for clicks. and It can't catch fire if it doesn't run. ruined a perfectly good example of a e46. should have started with a 316i
:P
Rather watch this than some fake ‘fixed drama’. We feel your pain, car’s not running right, don’t know why 😂
Send it to Fabco, we will watch progress on his channel.😁
guys, why dont you check with an output test on the ecu?
Any plans to ceramic coat the new headers? Will keep temps way down when the car’s up and running :) Try Zircotec!
We may. My 964 Turbo headers and Murcielago headers were done by Zircotec 👍
You need a glass bonnet.
Chal nice hogya kam
U guys concerned with heat on underside of hood? (Bonnet)
I feel like the exhaust manifolds/headers just encircle the engine in massive heat!
(Shrugs)
What's the spark as you start the car at 6:56?
i almost killed myself trying to get coil packs out of one of those!
‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’
Obsolete Antique but sure sounds nice! ❤
Did anyone else see the spark on initial start up or was I seeing things 🤷🏼
Haha just a reminder if you do wanna sell the pectel/cosworth ecu remember to put it in the video you are selling and I’ll try to contact you 😅…
There a tank room there try working on a motorbike with the frame on over the top on a line 4 😂
I couldn't give a rats hairy bumhole if there's a positive ending or not lol, your videos are always great and well worth watching 👍
you putting up tees from the show on to the site?
We will be yeah.
Get yourself an extended reach electric ratchet so you can just press a button after you break the plug loose
We have one. It wouldn't fit under the runners.
that spark at 7mins into the vid, first try crank...did you catch it?
I cringed when I saw that. Hopefully it was expected but I doubt it.
yeah. saw that too. something is shorting out
I did.
@@driftworksstarter motor flash worth getting the injectors cleaned and check all your earth's for the engine
It's a bad earth. We have a strap on the engine block, but there's a strap missing from the head. We've checked that it's not that thats causing the running issues with a jump lead. We just need to get a decent braided strap for the head.
We know where all the lost Sharpies end up in the Driftworks workshop
They're not lost when they're in the drawer they're supposed to be 😂
You know your doing well when your "in between" project has a 15k manifold...😂
Why overcomplicate things with a header like that?
Why not?
Everything about me says I should love this car but I just don't. I hate the headers. All they do is route right next to things you don't want to get hot like the intake manifold, fuel rails and the radiator. Just being honest. I mean no disrespect, your fab skills are awesome. Hope I'm wrong, I'm assuming it's going to sound awesome too.
It's too difficult to get a 10to1 header under the car. Too little space so the only way is to get it over and to the front. Or do a lot of cutting and fab work to make it fit under the car.
Thank god it isn't your car then.
@@a5co9 I know. I’d be pretty bummed. I mean, I’d make the best out of it tho
Both of you need beards i dont know why but it makes sense for some reason 😂
👍🐏😁
I know the name of that ECU driver software! P. I. Staker
I don't know why on earth you guys have done this to this car. The engine is badd ass but these headers are just as they say backasswards way of doing things
There's nothing more infuriating in life than a project car that isn't going well, engine woes, unexpected corrosion, stuff which should fit but doesn't. Those are bad enough, when it's expensive and intermittent then it's even less fun. While I don't know the spec of the build, is there a stock tune you can go back to? Stick with it chaps.
