Our Cruise on Marella Discovery 2 - Coastal Gems - 30th May to 6th June 2023

- Here are some scenes from our recent cruise on the Marella Discovery 2. We went on the Costal Gems itinerary. It leaving from Palma de Mallorca took in ports in Corsica, Tuscany, Cannes, Marseille and Ibiza town. We had a fabulous time and will look forward to going back again. I include a tour around the ship showing all the restaurants and lounges.

We were on this ship about 2 weeks before you with an outside cabin on deck 2. Being a drinker I wasn’t sure about the premium package so didn’t bother and pleased we didn’t as the AI was more than good enough. The surf & turf was an extra cost but well worth it. We couldn’t fault the food and thoroughly enjoyed our cruise on Discovery 2. The shows got better as the week went on and we spent most evenings in the live room with Danny’s boys who were fab. Enjoyed your video tour and brought back great memories.
I agree totally with all you have said about the Disco 2, so much so we are heading back before the end of the month. The Danny Boys were great and so was the other house band. The Irish guy Louis was great too. I'm glad I brought back happy memories with my vid. It makes producing them so worthwhile. Thanks so much for watching.

Ship was great and generally not too busy. When all aboard it was busy but there were always a seat or sunbed available. Thanks for watching.
Really enjoyed this video, I loved this ship and it brings back lovely memories. I think you have a really enjoyable way of presenting, something we need to work on and i love your humour. Can't wait for ours same ship, we have a cabin with outside view but yours looked good not sure if paying the extra money for premium drinks etc is worth it, which we have not paid that as yet!
You'll have a great time. We're back on Disco 2 in September and really looking forward to it. The standard all inclusive has plenty of options and may be fine for you. @midatravel has a great video listing all the differences between standard AI and premium AI. Booked for july leaving from corfu, our flight from edinburgh is meant to land at 9 and ship leaves at 11pm, bit worried about delays, have you ever experienced late departures, do you think ship will wait
If you have your flight provided by Marella cruises you have nothing to worry about. They will wait for you. If you have booked a cruise only and providing your own flight my advice is to phone the company asap if a delay comes to light. I hope all runs smoothly and you have a great cruise. Hi gary great informative videos. Thinking off booking the tui marella cruise for next year. Will be our 1st time cruising. Can i ask what way do the excursions work, are they included in the price when booking? Thank you
Unfortunately the excursions are not included. When you have booked you can go into the TUI website and see what is available in each port and you can book there. Once onboard there is an excursion desk you can book with also. There is also a website called "what's in port" which will give you information if you want to make your own way to see the sights. Dreaming or what, included in the price ? definately not. 60 quid a pop for each one per person
How much cash did you take on holiday ?
You can get away with spending very little onboard or you can spend lots by taking tours, gambling in the casino etc. We use a website what's in port which gives tips etc for your stops so it is hard to say what you'd need. We take approx £500 per person per week and usually bring some home. We maybe thrifty though.
