  • This is my version of the yellow owl, tying it with black thread is mcuh easier and faster, but I prefer the effect the peacock quill has it looks more natural.
Tied either as this one the F-Fly or a Shuttlecock type it works very well on the Lake of Mentieth and many other places, its just a natural pattern thats a winner in every way...
Hope you enjoy it, remember to varnisht he bodys before doing the thorax and wings....
Hook: - Kamasan B405 Sizes 14-10 or Barbless Equivalent
Thread: - Sheer Pale Yellow 14/0 (Primrose)
Body: - Yellow Owl Dyed Peacock Eyes
Thorax: - Fox Squirrel or Hare's Mask
Wing: - 3 or 4 Natural CDC Feathers...
Its a winner all the way, so go tye them up and have fun, remember Sharing is Caring

Thank you. Another to add to my box. I'll probably be tying five or six, at least. Always time to share with my fishing partners. I sincerely hope that you are feeling better soon. Best to you and tight lines.

Another really nice pattern there dude. I just can’t believe how many varieties of fly get tied in the world. But I love it! Thanks for uploading another one dude and I hope you get well soon.

If I wanted to get movement out of the fly how would I go about that? Would I use a grey hen hackle?
