I don’t particularly like the devil advocacy going on because the young man has the right to feel the way he feels. Monique was wrong and her son should not be blamed for having a terrible mom. I am enjoying listening to him though.
I feel sometimes we forget what’s most important to our children. My father bought me lots of presents, but what I really wanted from him was his presence. As a mom of a 37 year old black man, I’m proud of you Shalon.❤🙏🏾
?????? Not sure what I'm watching. Playing the devil's advocate on common sense stuff doesn't make you clever. Let the man talk!! You kept interrupting and saying stuff that didn't make sense.
I agree because he didn't listen..I don't think he truly listened to Shalon previous videos because he has a lot of things incorrect or he just didn't care .
One thing i strongly dislike is when an interviewer doesn't allow their guest to fully formulate their responses. The bald guy kept cutting him off, which made him lose track of his original point. If you're not going to listen just call it a conversation, not an interview.
Exactly! Horrible interviewer with non-sense interruptions trying to sound clever, and playing the devil's advocate. Shalom is way too intelligent for this conversation.
@@Tumbleweed1919 Yup, and from what i was able to watch Shalon handled it well, I just would've rathered to see him in a better environment. The host invalidated Shalon's experience many times. I think we need Iyanla on this one.
One thing you cannot do is dimiss someone's experience. What might not be a big deal to you, might be a deal breaker for someone else. What goes along with accepting the apology you don't get is understanding that I have the right not to fool with you anymore because of it. Our children have the right to set their own boundaries.
Working and doing what you have to do to provide for your children is VERY different from CHOOSING not to be a parent at all. She said herself she wasn't interested in being a mother. She wanted to be famous. That was more important to her, and you cannot talk this young man out of feeling how he feels about that.
This dude pissed me off trying to justify Monique getting on stage calling her son out of his name and saying f him. Idc if her feelings were hurt. There is no justification for that. Stop telling that young man to give her a pass. He has the right to hold her accountable for how she treats him.
Yeah, the host need to sit on his hands or something. He can't even sit and listen to Shalon's responses. That's honestly another issue with his and MoNique's generation. I'm not trying to slam yall, but why can't yall stop talking long enough to listen?!
The host is too much for me. I can't even watch the video. I made it an hour and 11 minutes in and he done triggered every nerve I have. He obviously on his own mission trying to change Shalon's mind instead of gaining more understanding about Shalon's perspective. It's gross. He probably don't really give af, just here for the clout!
So let me get this straight. Y'all been telling Monique she has a right tell her truth for over a decade, but her son is too old to feel what he feels because the woman who birthed him chose not to be his mother? AND instead of rectifying the situation, chose to get on stage and say f that n??? Nah B! HE HAS THE RIGHT TO FEEL HOW HE FEELS.
"I don't give a damn what she do, that's still yo mama". Yes she is, but we really gotta stop using that as an excuse to allow parents to treat their kids any way they want to. The way he's trying to chatise Shalon, je needs to have the conversation needs to be had with Monique. But of course she won't take it.
Stop cutting him off take a page from club Shay shay book. When you interview let a person talk . Everyone in your comments agree you kept cutting him off. He should've went to Tasha k. She would've let him talk without cutting him off.
kv you are projecting your own thoughts onto this young man; the young man was asking for help or whatever he was askingfor; and youre talking about him as a button pusher; which isnt remotely true
I just saw Monique's movie The Reading Room and i left the viewing of it saying THIS IS MONIQUE OUTSIDE OF CHARACTER... She and her husband move like teenager's who ran away from home and found value in only one another.. what i found troubling was grown azz black ppl who are so up in Mo's azz they'd attack her son to show loyalty and to me that bipolar disorder behavior.. You don't get to publicly shame your children just because they're adults especially if you say they have mental health issues.. Who Does That?? Monique Does and i believe she loves her son but she resorts back to her traumatized childhood for LIKES on social media and that's Wack as Fk.. mr Shalon perhaps less interviews based on your mom Don't Burn The Bridge even if you believe your mother carries matches
Uncle Kev is from the old school but its a new day Unc...you cannot disrespect your children and believe they still owe you as their parent the upmost respect. That's old school nonsense
if you were say you werent interested in being a daddy; and mrs hicks wasnt interested in being a mom ; then that is different; my daughter ( and i was very very imperfect and my daughter hates me sometimes shes 32 ) was the center of my universe; there was nothing i was more interested in than my child;not even my art
When i listen to him i think about what my mother would do for ME with all the things we been through. My mother is no celebrity obvious. But as a mother , its things she would do and wouldnt. And we been through some tuff times. I understand him beacuse my mother would neeeeeverrrr. The only thing my mother would do is attack my mental health(which is why I understand that part) ppl say anything when their put on their spot of their wrongs but saying f me on stage. "F that b" cuz I'm a girl. It's equal. I don't think so. Although she doesn't have a stage to do that on. But still I don't think so.
the schizophrenic diagnosis is probably a mistake; unless shalon is on anti psychotics ( apart from the bipolar medication if any ) then i dont see schizophrenia ( me masters level psychologist and masters level forensic psychologist in addition to being writer diretor producer ); often if you walk into a clinic or new clinician and you are agitated ; you are in a " labile " agitated state; they just write chronic undiffrentiated schizophrenia when the diagnosis is not appropriate unfortunately
3:01:00 mo'nique not funny either katt , dc and jess is the only ppl i can name off the top of my head thats funny. And jess is a different type of funny but she funny tho
Please practice your interviewing skills. You are too energized and all over the place and you keep interrupting. We wanted to hear shalon speak and you kept making the interview about yourself.

so glad to hear from him directly in a long interview format !
He was a gentleman! And he spoke highly of his mom
He mightest well went to Tasha K, this interviewer is a 🤡
and talk too much!

If you watch the interview it was very unbiased
Well said
This interviewer did this for his own gain…. Not to really hear this young man out!!! SHAME
That’s not true

No. Call it a damn monologue cause all we hear is the stupid interviewer
Exactly! Horrible interviewer with non-sense interruptions trying to sound clever, and playing the devil's advocate. Shalom is way too intelligent for this conversation.
Next time.... you do it
I wished Shalon had just said I’m out, cause this was absolutely insulting to Shalon’s intelligence.

2:16:41 he makes a valid point. How do you go from calling strangers “my sweet babies” to “f that n” to your own son?
I wish he would have allowed him to speak without constant interrupting 😢
This is why folks love Shannon Sharpe. He asks the questions then shuts the fuck up.
@@alyciacooper2 exactly. He was loud and wrong most of the time
It was a conversation

Exactly!! We make time for what we want to.
This is the absolute most painful thing (that I wouldn't dare refer to as an interview) to listen to. How do you constantly cut off your guests?
The comment I was looking for, Kev you’re a "comedian” not an interviewer.
I just passed out!! Go head Shalon!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
He’s a good looking young man!
Correct. Be there for the grand baby since she wasn’t there for him!!! There’s no excuse for that.
I went through a lot of what u went through brah, just honor your Mother and Father from a distance

Ok Kev I’m with u on that. “Accept the apology you may never get”

You literally proved his point if you didn't want to be a daddy then you should not have become one you have the same screwed you mind set
"So easy to make rich ppl feel like they did some nice shit" 💯
