      I feel the same way! The most trusting, decent, honest people you know are often the most vulnerable to these attacks and this is exactly why I’m trying to get the word out

    I am convinced that I have a RAT and I don't mind it. It gives me peace to know that the NSA and FBI are watching over me. Thank you!

    I downloaded cheats for apex legends and now I’m almost certain I have a RAT & I’m hearing some weird code beeps I’ve never heard before sounds like a Bluetooth connecting, maybe that’s the RAT connecting to my pc, one things for sure I restart my system when it makes the boop boop boop BOOP noise, I haven’t heard it in a while, I reset my windows and heard the noises a few times however after uninstalling and disabling one drive I haven’t heard it again, RAT still there or am I good?

    I think I’m having this problem. I’ve tried clearing the hard drive and reinstalling windows. They still have access and I am not the only user. I think I may be able to stop any downloads if I disconnect from the internet and use a usb to install windows. But it seems files are saved and hidden with essential files and I don’t have the authority to remove them. Even describing what is going on is difficult to explain. I’m suppose to be the only user, I have nothing on the computer I am trying to keep.

      If you’ve done a complete wipe of the hard drive and reinstalled the OS from a clean copy, then you should be ok in most cases. The problem usually occurs when you start restore files from backup as they may be infected. There are some cases of RATs that can persist by embedding in the firmware, but those are more rare

      There are good scanning tools out there that could help you identify any malware. Boot in safe mode to be extra sure

    why laptop device producers do not provide physical camera switches anymore if it prevents issues in case of RATs problem?

    • @jeffcrume
      @jeffcrume Před 9 měsíci +1

      I agree! It’s very low cost and provides great protection for at least the video portion. The good news is that you can buy a lens cover that slides back and forth as you need it pretty cheaply

    4:33 Also if your using a old email they can your email to yourself ofc its not the same email its a email spoofing and trick you into thinking he already has access to your system and emails while trying to make you click in some links to then successfully infect your system.

      100% even if you know nothing about the dark web you could do a little amount of research and find how to get passwords within 15min

    My laptop camera is always covered with a thick piece of cardboard. It has been there from day one.

    • @jeffcrume
      @jeffcrume Před 5 měsíci +1

      Not a bad idea. Some people use little plastic covers that you can stick on and slide back and forth to cover or uncover the camera. Harder to do on a phone, though
