  • Want to know how to cure with a Heat Press or Heat Gun, well today I'll demonstrate how you can do it for your print jobs. This is handy for people who are just starting out and don't have a Conveyor Oven nor a Flash. You may believe it's slow but I'll show how it can be actually a fast process after a little practice. Hope you enjoy.

    Great job. You do very well at explaining what you do, why you do it and your previous concerns. Though you may not have the most expensive equipment or the biggest area to work, you put the effort in to make a quality product. I wish you much success.

    Just what I needed to hear!!! No tengo el espacio nor the money to buy a flash dryer or a conveyor dryer… I’m trying to get started with the screen printing… I already do vinyl and sublimation, so I have the heat press… but there are jobs that are definitely better suited for screen printing, specially when the quantities are higher. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts and your work 👍 quickly becoming one of my favorite channels 🙏 keep up the good work!!

    I just started using my heat press to cure the ink today ... BUT... what I did different is that when I close the lid of the heat press after I put the shirt in there .. I keep a gap between the heating element and the ink so they never touch.. gap is about an eighth of an inch .. however .. your way is better because with mine I would have to jack up the heat to about 380 and cure it for about one minute .. I have not test washed them yet but I did the stretch test and they seem fine. I even did that with a 100 percent polyester shirt and she came out so pretty 😋

    • @TheInkBuildUp
      @TheInkBuildUp  Před 23 dny

      Sorry about the long replied. And no you can't unless that iron reaches a temperature of around 300-330°F. Which is unlikely for a regular household iron.

  • @leftylimbo
    @leftylimbo Před 3 lety +1

    Thx for the tip. How much pressure do you use on the press? When I did it to some navy blue shirts, it made a discolored square, I’m guessing from the heat and pressure. I don’t have a heat sensor so I’m not sure how hot it actually was (although I set it to around 350°F). I was in the middle of a shirt run and my flash dryer quit on me, so I used the heat press in an emergency.

    • @TheInkBuildUp
      @TheInkBuildUp  Před 3 lety +1

      Can't really say how much pressure it was since this press doesn't have it to adjust it.

      Can't really say about the pressure but it was at 180°C (356°F) and I would give it 12 seconds but it would reach up to 200°C and I would lower the time by 2 seconds.

    Hello I noticed that the second print you did after printing it, you put it directly into the heat press. Does this mean that you don't have to use heat gun anymore to dry it and then put it into the heat press afterwards?

    • @TheInkBuildUp
      @TheInkBuildUp  Před 2 lety

      Yea, you could just place it on the heat press directly after printing it. No need to dry it. It's how I do my prints now. It's a big time saving. At first, I didn't know, and I would dry it, it took forever. But give it a try to see if it works for you. I just recommend you clean your heat press after a few prints because some ink does stay on your heat press.

      @reynaldbatul2259 Před 2 lety
