honestly the serving rules needs to be changed to promote play, it's not interesting to watch players try and smash the serve just to miss, get height calls, or occasional aces. The current style of play doesn't even encompass most of what spikeball is about. It's just about the quality of the service.

I would suggest a system where play starts upon the receiving team's continuation of the play. Therefore, the serve is not as relevant. And the receiving team has virtually unlimited times to choose a serve to return.

For real. You can count the rallies in this final on one hand.

agreed and I left a similar thought on the other video. Though i think a problem with your proposal of the serve not being relevant is that it would create a situation where the receiving team just always wins the point. If serves aren't challenging then the returning team will probably win the significant majority of points

So true. I propose a farther service line such as 10 feet to get rid of the whole ridiculous serve culture. The aces in this game make me want to throw up 🤢🤢

@@soyluisrueda Because they are pros playing a final. This means that they must have beaten several others to get there.
That's also my first time watching a pro game and I'm as confused as @Lev1corpus how often they miss. I thought they should be much, much better than our boy group that's just occasionally playing as a hobby, but honestly they are only better with the serves.

interesting pov, I do believe your perception could change if you get to play against these guys live.Anyhoww I also think there is space for improvement regarding the service rules in order to make the game more fun to watch with more rallies and dives

I think the reason why this happens, and I wish I knew how to fix this, is that they are all simply too good at setting and spiking that it forces players to go all out to get points on serves. Aces are the only thing stopping teams from going back and forth getting points on the opposition’s serve every point. Players know this so they favor going all in on the serve and risking a fault over taking a little off of the serve to make sure it gets on the net and almost certainly getting spiked on
