📜 Video Description 📜
So far in this mini-series, Easty has done a good job of keeping it togehter, finding some impressive disciplined folds while suffering at the hands of some cruel variance. Nevertheless, he has promised us that some bad play is coming. Will I be able to stay calm when we analyse the dreaded 87s hand??? - Hry
Everyone needs to remember: this is what variance does to you when you are on bad side of it. You just keep on losing big hand after big hand and also forced to make disciplined laydowns all the time. Even if you play good.
Most people are unable to keep composure and these people probably thinking online poker is rigged
Ty for this video series! I'm disappointed the K9 and 87 hands were the only "punts", as there ultimately wasn't a hand where Nick lost his sanity (imo) before launching his chips into orbit. His thought process is extremely solid and it was a pleasure learning from you both.
Thanks mate!
So much to learn from here thank you! I loved the point that EV of checking increases if the pot is big. So simple, so obvious but I've never thought that ever!
This video hits home. Currently on a 20BI downswing after beating 25nl at 15bb/100 in a month. Took a shot at 50nl and have never run so bad in all my life. Must respect bankroll management
I love how Petey always has a way with words, the whole post-night club vomiting analogy has me in stitches lol
He has improved so much I am very impressed, should definitely be winning in the pools although the fact you're streaming def hurts your winrate
Thanks!
Appreciate the input respect mate
Pete, when you were talking about at like 13:00 that when someone is betting a polar range and their recognition of the situation I think is so so important. it’s something I feel it’s difficult to make judgements about players.
But I haven’t heard another coach speak about these spots in this way and it feels very validating to hear you take the words right out of my mouth.
But I guess we just fold these spots and take the higher percentage bluff spots. I find it a difficult spot. Because if you bluff something like this and they have zero fold it really is just a 60 something BB error regardless of solvers opinion on EV loss
In the K9 XR river, when I am on the button, I never bet fold a value hand. I have yet to see a player checking twice with the nuts in this kind of spot. I play in 50NL, this may be more prevalent in higher stakes
the student has become the teacher
23:30 is there any consideration for leading all in at the river? Am I right to think we want to lead ai with flushes at least some of the time and 66c feels close to bottom of range (I guess 44c is better)
Absolutely If you’re going to play River donk strategies
It’s tough for easty.. the right thing to do is to completely over bluff but he has many of the pool watching his stream and a % of the pool snapping him down with any 2
Would be nice if the 888 hand histories showed villain hole cards for non-showdown hands. I’m able to see villain hole cards when I review my Ignition/Bodog hands on PT4 and it’s really improved my results on there.
but is Ignition/Bodog anonymous players/tables?
showing villian holecards is completely different when you don't know who the villian was that played them.
@@ekw555 correct, it’s anonymous. As such, it’s more effective for me to study those hands as part of a larger sample size (ie. IP facing an OOP flop donk) because it helps me to ascertain the player pool tendencies.
I really feel for Easty, as a streamer, facing “known” villains who bumhunt and/or pull random bullsh*t on him. 🫡
@@ElJefe0719 true, because Easty's "hand histories" are all available w/ holecards online.
I agree that there is info to be gained from studying the anonymous hands. I used to do it when I played on Ignition.
I just meant that revealing hole cards of folded hands on a site that is not anonymous would make too much info available, IMO
@@ekw555 true, and agreed
No potatoes here either.
10NL is no joke, everyone is Addamo
Easty's running bad,
It's making him quite mad,
But calling 3-bets OOP,
Will make your red line droop.
The K9s hand i get what you are trying to achieve, but how often would you x/c the turn with KQ? You would barrel turn a high % im guessing. so the fact you can never really have KQ means this is JTs for value thats 2 combos if bu has a J thats maybe 1.. You will get folds here from some players but you have folded out bluffs.. no way this is breakeven you are losing ev for certain.
Can anyone shine a light for me as a german and tell me what 3e means at 9:12 ?
Bet the fraction of the pot on the flop which would get you all in by the river betting the same fraction of the pot on turn and river.
Proper name is the geometric bet size.
Formula is ((1+2x)^(1/n)-1)/2 where x is the effective stack to pot ratio and n is the number of streets left to bet.
some nerdy sh*t
@alexyork9917 thanks a lot man. I mean I am not the baddest in poker and I worked my way through complicated topics already. I get the idea behind your explanation. But in this case I stay stupid so far even after your formula. I get the idea but do not have the click yet :(
IDK about GTO really. I play unfathomably better than my opponents and its looking like I'm easily losing at 25NL....
You probably don't play anywhere as good as you think you do
@@IanMurray-ce4gc I'm fucking phenomenal at poker.
Fun.
blah blah blah.
