I know this is a joke, but you can actually make primitive door hinges by hammering thin sticks with a blunt object until they're fibrous, then tying them in a simple knot like rope going through both your door and the doorframe.
They tend to decay over time, but are incredibly easy to replace and work well enough.
i can make Hinge from Ropes by making holes in the door and tying them up

I love The Forest. What a great game made by only few people. Best part is, what many people misses or don't get, Cannibals. I saw many people say that AI is bad, sometimes they attack, sometimes they don't. And i think many people are spoiled by simple AI given by most studios. Cannibals in "The Forest" study you first, they wont come to attack you. With every day coming closer and closer. If you are hostile, they bring some friends, if you hit female, Oh, they will get angry. Scariest thing is? I did install Cannibal tracker mod once, and what i saw, gave me goosebumps. Yes, you see like 3 of them on the screen, but with that mod, you see like 50 of them, slowly following you off screen - Always.
Always?!! I'm glad I built a tree house then gave up. 😂😂
@@josephcopeland2996 i uninstall the mod after few days. So i can't say for sure, if it was that point of the game or what. But yeah. And how much of them you'll see, depends on your own agresiveness. Cannibals makes it unique survival game. Story telling is nice too if you like mystery. Great game.
@@josephcopeland2996 also, what's great about it, is that at night, you can't see sh*t, but you hear them. You can hear their unsetling noises, and you know that they are out there, but you can't see them. Makes an incredibly terrifying gaming experience.

@Doomer The neet gloomer I believe the magic number is 3 days (if you have water and are on good health) that you can go on before you start becoming extremely weakened?
And yes, I do know about 3 days without water, 2 weeks max without food part, but efficiency usually begins to drops dramatically after just the third day without food.

The only bad thing is she didn't get to see the horrors of that island. I'd really like to know what an expert survivalist would recommend in the face of a bunch of humans melded into a 6feet tall spider-like abomination, should we avoid eye contact? should we lay on the floor? so many questions!

the only thing she really concerned about was where the hell did the guy find hinges in the middle of nowhere
also how weird it is that i haven't seen a single video about the enemy AI in The Forest, while it's one of the most complex and interesting ones i've ever encountered. I played for about 6 hours and there actually WAS NOT a single moment where the enemy behavior would break the immersion of them being a tribe of cannibalistic living beings.
It can get pretty buggy tho, they LOVE running into walls or getting stuck in terrain.

I've finished this game after a while again but with your commentary I can see, developers did really good job. Nice and explanation way to play. Good stuff. love it.

@@Gamology I second this, Green Hell seems to make a lot more realistic approach to things and has more neat little details (using maggots to eat away infected flesh, different water purifiers, diseases/parasites and so on).

Love Kinga, she's always very into analyzing the gameplay and she's got a good sense of humor about it as well.

I love this series! She's pretty intuitive, definitely shows that she's used to going one step ahead in thought when it comes to survival. And her intrigue about Tim-Bobby is hilarious!

It's called rope/lashing. You can use it to make hinges. And if you really want to be a genius you can find a way to use the hinges from the suitcases.

@@mabbsgaming8578 if you think about it the hinges on luggage cases are typically mounted to a flat parallel surface. You remove the entire plate that the hinge joint is mounted to, punch some holes as attachment points, and use anywhere from 3-5 of them to act as the hinges for your door (depending on the weight of the door). The won't be perfect and they won't last forever but they will work. And they would likely last longer than a lashing hinge that would dry out and wear relatively quickly from the friction of use.

A lot of the experts are boring and don’t suspend their disbelief by nitpicking constantly about game elements (they had one for Dying Light where the “experts” that did Assasins Creed reacted to it, but I’m pretty sure they took it down because it was so painfully hard to watch).

Public disclaimer: that's still a last resort. I did use poison ivy as TP in my younger years. Don't do that. As a side note, it's also important to be aware of what you're burning...especially if you're piling on green vegetation for a signal fire...because that smoke can be quite toxic and do some damage if it's a poisonous plant.

Well, informing you about what is done in real life and what the game gets right is the whole point of experts react. So I don't find anything wrong when someone who is experienced in the field tells me that one shouldn't point a gun at his comrades irl
