You can get a manual bleed breaker to seal the jars as well as the electric versions, though I would still recommend a very small oxygen absorber just to be sure. Great video, and happy mother’s day to all the mum’s out there!

Love our Harvest Right. Big learning curve we found, but loved digging it out. We found we put too much in jars and bags, once rehydrated it was a very large amount of food. Probably works for you guys with a big family, not for Noah and I. Great video. Love following your adventures. Thank you very much for the time and effort that goes into filming and editing(also for keeping family friendly).
Lots of good advice in the comments on freeze drying. One additional one is if the process stops and the food refreezes, which harvest Right does if it sits too long without you taking it out, you should always want the trays before removing them from the freeze dryer. If you pull out cold trays and condensation can form on the food that you may not even notice. This will make food go bad over time. Also when you did the test you only had one tray. You should always have all four trays in the harvest Right whenever you run it. First of all he uses the same amount of electric. Second I've heard that doing it often can damage the unit however I don't have first-hand experience of that. But it is what harvest Right recommends.

Hi happy mothers day! We have freeze dryer, snakes,fresh fruit owlala!! But the best is 18 eggs scrambled will fill a tray, we use these for baking, and camping. Zucchint shaved ,great for thicking soup, casscoles. We love ours and really use it for so many think, dream it and freeze it!! Have fun, love you channel, thanks

HaHaHaHa, I'm laughing at myself. When you started sealing the bag, my thought was "Wait, what about the oxygen absorber?" Rewound back about a minute to be sure I didn't miss it (Oxygen absorber). Then I'm saying out loud to my TV "Wait, what about the oxygen absorber". And almost if it were planned, you said "I forgot the Oxygen absorber. But that's ok, we're going to eat it, ya know, and experiment". How funny to me. Timing was like we were having a conversation in the same room. Well, at least to me, it was funny. Guess ya had to be there 😆

Yes, the jar vacuum sealers work, there a 2, one that attaches by tube to food saver and one that is rechargeable and stands alone. Goid luck

Happy Mother’s Day! I’m a dehydrator for adventure meals, so that freeze drier looks amazing. Can’t wait to see what simple & delicious freeze dried meals come out of this channel & Carol’s new one.
We’ve been dehydrating for years (first was a ronco - as seen in tv 😅). But, during the pandemic we stayed with some relatives who had a setup like this. It’s more work but the results are pretty incredible. Persimmons were one of the our favorite things to freeze dry.

We always weigh the trays before and after drying, then you know exactly how much water you need to rehydrate your meal.

Me too. But that's the issue right? "They" have made it where people can't afford "healthy", organic. And, to be self-sustainable, what is it? $5-$700 for freeze dryers and a few hundred for the other ones there, for got the name oh, dehydrator
I love my Freeze dryer. I’ve had it I think around a year. And the mouth that I’ve used and I don’t use it every single week but I think I paid for the machine. There’s too many leftovers given to me from the Daughter. I can’t keep up with. I just put them through the freeze. I’ve made some extra soup the Freeze dryer when potatoes went in the Freeze dryer. I can’t name the amount of things that I’ve done.

You should always ad extra drying time. I ad 8 hours extra to every load. Specially when you’re mixing different things in the same load. And also never stack trays on top of each other after load is done because bottom of trays might have some moisture on them. I have been freeze drying for years so just trying to give some tips

We bought the medium size dryer ,just over 3 years I went through 3 dryer pumps the first one within 2 months it was covered under warranty,even changing the oil as instructed and he oil is expensive and replacement pumps are expensive,after the 3rd pump I got rid of it

John, would a food saver machine work on this process? We love our food saver machine because it sucks the air out of the bag. There is no freezer burn on meat.
Peter here. Yes the food saver machine works great. Mylar last a bit longer but either way is good I think.

That’s a great question. As far as we know, there aren’t any issues. We have travelled with purchased freeze dried food quite a bit but we will have to look into it more.

Hello. Please explain in a boy's way what this freeze-drying is all about.
It’s a process where all the moisture is removed from the food, allowing it to be preserved for a long period of time. When it’s time to eat the food, you simply add water and it’s good to go.

I like that you fly the Canadian flag exclusively…after all, you’re in Canada. I live in the USA, very near the Canadian border, and I’m not wild about homes that fly Canadian (Castro Jr.) flag, even when it’s with the US (Brandon) flag. Even better, you’re not flying the Ukraine (comedian) flag. You’re good people.
I have watched your channels for a long time. I enjoy almost every single one. But, I cannot watch whenever you use the freeze dryer. You obtain it free and use it as directed! Another but, someone has to pay for it.
I’m glad you have been enjoying our videos and I can appreciate your comment, however, nothing is for free. No matter what it is, we work hard for it. Our kids are professional videographers. They commit to contracts and create content for a living.
Making videos is not easy work. Editing can take 12 hours per video or more. In one way or another we pay for everything we have. Hope that helps.
Wait until you dehydrate the strawberries and eat them dehydrated oh my God the taste is so intense. You have to try them before you hydrate them.
