    I’m 5 foot 8 and my pads are 30+1 I don’t know if that’s too short because they feel like they are but I’m not sure

      I think it will depend on the brand of the pad and fitting gear is not my area of expertise, so I would ask someone at your hockey shop, but I am 5'6" and I wear a Warrior 31+1.

      I would say those are a bit on the small size. I would go talk to other goalies or pro shop. There are a few online calculators that may help as well. I definitely had to mess around with a few different sizes/brands until I found what was right in my price range. I use a 33"+1, am 5'7" female. I found if they don't feel right or feel too short, then they probably are.

      probably a bit short bud...Im 5'-7" I run Vaughn V5's 32+1 and they are just a tad small... when I'm ready for a new set I'll probably try a 33+2 or a 34+1 or something...

    Should this be done in combination with your 2 week thing or should it be done after your initial two weeks and then add some of these in, mostly the wall thing

      These exercises are not a stand alone program, they are to be added to your on-going and progressive off-ice training program. I am not clear on what you mean by the '2 week thing' I am guessing you are asking about the Butterfly Challenge - if so, I would stick with that as a first stage.

    My butterfly is one of my weak points. I’m not sure if it is my pads being too short or something I can fix but I think it’s a mixture of both. I’m 6’ and using 34+2’s but it’s hard to keep my pads sealed when I’m in my butterfly. Even when I’m still, my pads aren’t sealed at all when I’m in the butterfly. Is there anything you would recommend?

      If i may chime in, with all due respect I don't think its the pads. I am almost exactly your height (within a half inch) and use 34+2's and have no problem getting a seal.

      iRwdy I would mess around with your strapping bit to see if that helps (loosening it up a bit) or look at increasing the height of your knee stack.

      Jonny C. Yeah, that’s what I think as well. I’m getting new pads anyways because they are super old (2014-15 ish) and in the wrong colors because I switched associations but I know I need to get more flexible and get used to the right technique.

      GoalieTrainingProTV Thanks, right now I have my bottom strap (the one that goes in between skate and blade) super tight. I’ve noticed that the toe of my skate doesn’t line up straight with my pads, it’s more angled towards the center (for example my right skate is angles to the left compared to my right pad). Next practice I’ll try to loosen it up. Also, do you gave any recommendations on new helmets? I’ve had mine since squirts and I’m now a second year bantam.

      @@blake6992 Hey Bud...Id try n do a search on here or on Google or something even talk to another experienced goalie at the rink or something for pad setup...most guys run 2-3 inches of slack on their toe ties and run the boot strap realllly loose...like you should have tons of play between the pads and your skates buddy...running your bootstraps that tight Christ must but a ton of pressure on your ankles knees n hips that must be killing ya with no free play man...you should be able to almost keep the pad flat on the ice but angle your foot to push at the same time...thats impossible to do if you're torquing that bootstrap tight like that...ask around bud don't be shy... someone will help you out.

      Wow i really appreciate the reply. definitely willing to put in the work, found out today i can get ice at 6am before work, i have no coach so with your videos and some others im going to put together a workout i can do alone on ice. love your stretches

      @@bobholmes487 Amazing Bob - love your commitment to the process - just go slow and steady, give your body time to adapt. Too much too fast will lead to injury and neither of us want that for you.
