I hear you, Mr. B. The Anime (AniMaid) direction (Different, Sense, Unleash, Protect You, etc.) has this frantic, compressed vibe going on to punch up the visuals more than to satisfy our ears with hard-hitting rock. But as usual, the more you hear it the more you'll like it (A Band-Maid phenomenon). It'll be interesting to see what the other songs on their upcoming EP will bring. Known for their range (acoustic No God to electric No God), we could also see mid-tempo and WD-type rock coming from the Maids. So everyone gets a little bit of everything from Band-Maid, don't they?

They definitely brought the Thunder in this one!!! I loved the sound of Misa's bass and that Flappy Pigeon was roaring! Akane and Mincho were killing it too! Saiki is great as always!!

hey man. glad your still able to make reactions. i kinda felt the same as you my first listen. i was like- here we go again. it sounds like there other latest stuff. i guess i expect top notch music from the gurls all the time. then i plugged in my head set and blasted it. big difference. its growing on me now. ive been a band-maid fan since 2016 and watched them grow. i feel like a proud papa at times. but i get what ya mean. btw have you heard from jewel box since you broke your health story ? i see there back to being active on ig again. hopefully your not in 2 much pain. if you get any hookers you should play this song for them. they might want you being there pimp for protection.

Yeah, I prefer their songs when they're not so cluttered. Still good, though, even though it's obviously geared for an anime.
@@jjo154 Yep i agree Jeff, sometimes there's so much going on that their isn't any space for the song to breath & you can't pick up on a hook or groove. But i guess by the very nature of anime songs they have to be immediate & pack a punch. Tho "Dawn Winery Theme" for the Genshin Impact game concert was damn awesome & totally unexpected :)
@@GaryHolloway-810 I'm not sure I've listened to that one, Gary. I'll have to check. But let's face it, the bulk of anime consumers aren't going to be listening for the musicality, but for how the song impacts the anime itself, if even that. Plus, they're only going to get a shortened version of it.
@@jjo154 Lots of people have reacted to it, it's not long but Mr B & Ryan Mear both reacted to it a while back. I totally agree, the producers just want something fast & impactful to go with their intro/outro credits so they can show some anime action :)

Mr B this makes the live that much better 😂. Its probably "over produced" for the anime side by the studio. I think the trailer version had some more of it. Personal preference to me, i like it regardless, and agree itll probably sound better live with less effects used

With "protect you", i had the same problem like with "shambles". At the first listening, it was too much to get what is going on in this song. But for me it is getting better by each listening.

Old mrB As you have guessed, the live performance of this song is completely different from the recording.
I have already experienced this first hand at two live performances in Japan, in Nagoya and Osaka. I felt that the difference between the impression and the recording was even greater than with "The Dragon Cries", a song that has been controversial and divided in the past.
The extent of BAND-MAID's evolution in the Nagoya and Osaka concerts is fully evident in the evolution and expectations of the band so far.
The recording of this song is not my favourite.
I feel that it is very far from the image of their sound. It's hard to get a feel for the powerful, ever-changing song ideas and the brightness and darkness of the sound that I heard yesterday (2024/7/5 Osaka).
This recording is a shame because this is definitely a live band, and definitely a band with notable musical talent.
The surprise at the Osaka gig was the evolution of everyone. Especially the evolution of KANAMI's guitar sound and the surprise of SAIKI's singing, which now has the volume, power and clarity of an opera singer.

過去に賛否両論が巻き起こり評価が分かれた「The Dragon Cries」以上にライブ演奏での印象と録音の差が大きいと曲だと私は感じました。
名古屋と大阪の演奏会でのBAND-MAIDの進化の度合いはこれまでの進化と期待から十分に察する事のできるものです。
この曲の録音は私の好みではありません。
それは彼女達の音のイメージとはかけ離れているように感じるからです。
昨日(2024/7/5大阪)に聞いた力強く変幻自在に変化する曲想と音の表情の明暗を感じる事は難しいと思います。
間違いなくこのバンドはライブバンドで、そして間違いなく特筆すべき音楽的な才能があるバンドなのでこの録音は残念です。
大阪のライブでの驚きは全員の進化ぶりです。
特にKANAMIのギターの音の進化とSAIKIのもはやオペラ歌手並みの声量と力強さと明瞭さを持つに至った歌唱の驚きです。
Thank you, Mad_maxman, like you say Band-Maid are a live band so why does the recording studio have to mess with thing in this way, and when I put my intro to the video, that when I saw how compressed the music file was.
I think it is a really busy song, loads going on, it's not my favourite of theirs and I understand what you are saying about the over=production as well Mr B.
Well when I put my intro on it, I can see how much it has been compressed loads.
I felt the song was uninspired. Like it was made to order. Then again, the B-M songs I like the least first time I hear them, tend to become favourites later.

Hey Mr. X 😉. New Band-Maid is always a celebration day. I really like the 2nd verse - of course the growling bass - and the solo - love that half time . But slowly i'm really getting tired with Kanami's overused fuzzy guitar tone nearly within the whole song. Together with the overcompression it's starting to hurt my ears. All in all for us fans it comes in vein with constantly great compositions. But it has nothing to win new fans over. Stay strong 🤞
