- Champion is the much-anticipated first TV project for Candice Carty-Williams, author of The Sunday Times bestselling novel Queenie. Carty Williams, alongside Déja J Bowens, Malcolm Kamulete, Ray BLK and John Ogunmuyiwa, visits the BFI Southbank to talk about the show.
Rap sensation Bosco is ready to dominate the music industry once more. But when his younger sister Vita is discovered, she becomes a performer in her own right, tearing apart the whole family in the process. A love letter to Black British music, Champion is a celebration of a sound that has long been the beating heart of our culture.
The show features an album’s worth of original music, written and produced by some of the UK’s leading artists, from singer-songwriter and 2017 BBC Music Sound Of prize-winner Ray BLK to grime pioneer, and BRIT and Mercury Prize-nominated Ghetts.

Great show!! I love the cast and the story line.
Underrated show
Just love the program I'm into hop hop music and enjoy all types of music just feel characters doing well they just work well and talented and it's real life it's the future it's so dope ❤
I tell ya what, for people for the diaspora Ray Fearons portrayal was brilliant everything was on point!
This show is excellent! Hopefully they keep it coming #season2 🤞🏾
I saw so many parts where you read between the lines. But it made me think of love and hiphop.
The show was pure genius. It had all the elements and everything was there. It was to many cooks in the kitchen. There was to many non uk elements. That part took away from the realness.
The acting was good. It was so realistic. There a disconnect with the music. I didnt understand the references like in the rap battle.
Good morning candice ❤😊
