Don't worry about being naive about shade. Many city designers, especially those trying to design cities around cars, rather than pedestrians, actually make sure to keep trees out because of their danger to the automobile. Check out the book, "The Walking City," on Audible some time. It was fascinating to see how much of his design theory actually makes your cities more profitable and successful in the game!
Oh, I am actually very anti-car in general, I just try to tone it down in my videos a little bit. It's amazing how much time, money and nature we waste on a product that shouldn't have been this ubiqitous in the first place. My naivete was mostly that I could make a city walkable with wide streets in an environment like this. Thanks for the audiobook suggestion though, it sounds interesting and right up my alley (no pun intended, haha)
Wow, it's looking sooooo good. So pleased you decided to use Metro Overhaul Mod, it fits perfectly. Love the new "denser" look. Cannot wait until the next episode arrives :)
This series was the inspiration for me creating The Metropolitan steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=837023350 which is a different version of Metro 31 apartments because they were like on every corner. Glad to see you use the other version too
I'm very honored that you're actually watching this series, and that it inspired you to make a new building which fits in perfectly! Thanks for all the great assets - they're filling in a mid-rise, large plot niche that the original game and many assets have left behind, but are so desperately needed in making modern cities.
Can you make a stadium like this. I KNOW you can make a better one for this city! www.google.com/search?q=stadiums+near+water&rlz=1C1CHFX_enUS693US694&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjtldjtvOPRAhXiD8AKHVh1AloQ_AUICCgB&biw=1242&bih=580#imgrc=Y7vJM7JfTJBVRM%3A
If it was the Taichung MRT station that you were talking about when you said stations disappeared that wasn't the convertor mod, the author updated it to remove the sub-buildings enabler dependency which in turn meant any stations placed before need to be replopped, same thing happened to me.
From friends that live in Qatar and therefore visit Dubai relatively frequently, it would seem that it is very car-centric city due to the high temperatures it endures. It gets so hot that it would be unbearable to walk anywhere! The same can be said for Qatar where they live - there are little to no sidewalks anywhere because it is just accepted that you will spend as little time outside as is physically possible!
Also the sheer affluence of a lot of the population means that public transport is quite undesirable and having a car (or a personal driver) is the default way to travel
When i was in dubai. I visited the Burj Khalifa and i recorded this nice timelapse of the interchange right next to it. And it was crazy how Dubai and Abu-Dhabi had these 8-lane highways
I'm Malaysian and agree with your comments about Singapore. btw, do you think about making the Bahrain International Circuit around the city? That would be cool, nobody seems to do it afaik
Hey, Silvarret! Amazing video as always, so much work - it's unbelievable! Can you share your color correction LUT? I think it would fit perfectly for my European city Project, because the one I have now - it's too dark, and it's looking not so great in the videos and I can't find anything that I would be happy about... Once again - great work!
If you hate being forced to have cars then dont come to new Miami suburbs. Everything here requiers a car. They have made it a bit better by adding city centers but its still a hassle to even go to the park
I was wondering how you are able to place single resident buildings for example. If I DL your asset list buildings, I can't place single resident buildings. Please let me know how it works.
luke oram I don't think so because he mentioned in the very beginning that it is a completely new city which refers to no old history (and no old buildings) for me, but it would be cool!
I'm looking, I'm looking and I can not find ... Can anyone help? I am seeking a module through which we can place the buildings as the author in the video? (And yes, I was looking also at his modifications). I would be grateful for help.
Rather than use some modern building and dress it up as a mosque, why not reuse the one we see here? I could see a city having something like 'The Five Prophets' or whatever, a set of similar churches/mosques/religious buildings that were built all at the same time, in a single big project. Presumably Amar didnt come to be in recent years and has some history to it, it simply modernized in one go like Dubai. So the mosques could be some remnant of the old Amar, and the five together hold some significance. Like each is dedicated to one of the main tenets of Islam or whatever. Hence their identical look, all the tenets are important and balanced.
Timelapse is "over 25 minutes long" Well, the entire video is 25:51 minutes plus the fact that there are 29 seconds of cinematics so far so only 22 seconds left plus there will probably be more cinematics and outro at the end so minus like at least 1 minute meaning that the timelapse is probably NOT over 25 minutes long. FYI I haven't watched the entire vid yet.

"I got a city love," John Mayer, Room for Squares.
Please upload more of this. It's my favorite series on CZcams!!!
Anders Davidson But mostly more videos are lacking in the quality :/ so I think it is a good way he is handling it :)
This is by far my favorite CS project. Great episode!
I just realized why the you named the city 'When the moon hits your eye' in game. Real clever.
Blujitsu I feel very stupid but... why?
Blujitsu, I don't get it...
WWHHHEN DA MOOON HIIITS YOUR EYE LIKE DA BIG PIZZA PIE, DAS AMMMMOREEE
I love your building style!!!! you are the only channel I know that doesn't do car centric cities, and I love it. I just can't express the happiness
Please, dont abandon this series :/ Its the best thing on youtube, love it.
I love the focus on public transit!
Wow, it's looking sooooo good. So pleased you decided to use Metro Overhaul Mod, it fits perfectly. Love the new "denser" look. Cannot wait until the next episode arrives :)

Why is this city named when the moon hits your eye
This series was the inspiration for me creating The Metropolitan steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=837023350 which is a different version of Metro 31 apartments because they were like on every corner. Glad to see you use the other version too

made that comment before I finished watching the video, thanks for the shoutout! :-) Clearly the most beautiful city of any CS CZcams series though.
Hey man, I love your assets! They're awesome! Thanks :D

This is definitely the most interesting serie you have. Would love to see more/more often!
Hey Silvarret could you make a industrial area of this city. Loving the series btw upload more of this 😃
If it was the Taichung MRT station that you were talking about when you said stations disappeared that wasn't the convertor mod, the author updated it to remove the sub-buildings enabler dependency which in turn meant any stations placed before need to be replopped, same thing happened to me.
Ah that's it, thank you!
I'd move here in a heartbeat.

Last time I was this early, Amar City was a desert.

Yes finally!!!!
I've waited so long (3 weeks) and it's finally here.
Bedankt Silvarret!
Man its so satisfying just looking at it!!
I'm Malaysian and agree with your comments about Singapore. btw, do you think about making the Bahrain International Circuit around the city? That would be cool, nobody seems to do it afaik
I live in Tasmania
Gotta love the skyline series, hopefully one of many!
Amem, a new one! I was searching for new videos yesterday. ;D
You should make a steam playlist or workshop collection with this city!!
Hey, Silvarret! Amazing video as always, so much work - it's unbelievable! Can you share your color correction LUT? Hey, thanks! The LUT I use is called Realistic V1.2.
With all these plants in a desert, this city's water usage would be insane.
For added realism, add a football stadium and a few mosques in every island. Also, demolish the pearl roundabout if this is set after 2011 hahaha
If you hate being forced to have cars then dont come to new Miami suburbs. Everything here requiers a car. They have made it a bit better by adding city centers but its still a hassle to even go to the park
It's eben waaay too long
Is there anywhere a list of all the mods you're using right now?
Yea, I too would like to know this as well!
niTe Doesn't he has a list on Steam? I think it is quite up to date
Link?
Atirus Search on His Steam Profile
I don't know if that list is up to date because it says "mods used in dutch city" but I will try it anyway :)
Awesome as always! Thanks for the video! :)
on the spot where it says the name of the city it says when the moon hits your eye
when i thought i was making a sick city and now i seen this, mine looks like a shit hole lol
I've been waiting so long for this.
Is the map theme on workshop? It looks fantastic!
Beautiful as always Silv!
This city looks soooo good right now
How's called that triangle-shaped building, You placed in 15:44, on steam workshop?
Love this series!
I was wondering how you are able to place single resident buildings for example. If I DL your asset list buildings, I can't place single resident buildings. Please let me know how it works.
very creative, it's so cool - thx.
I know this is 4 years late but ehrn the heck is your city called "when the moon hits your eyes"
That city looks so good ;-; i need some building tips what roads are those? And LUT's ?
The roads are vanilla, with the Road Color Changer mod to make them black. I use the Realistic V1.2 LUT :)
+Silvarret Thanks

Silvaret , can you please make a setup video , plus show your computer . That would be fantastic
Do you have a modlist bcs I really like the road texture

luke oram I don't think so because he mentioned in the very beginning that it is a completely new city which refers to no old history (and no old buildings) for me, but it would be cool!
what is the mod called to combined buildings like to place one building directly touching another one.
How you can place assets and trees to roads, and billboards to houses ?
este juego a llegado a un nivel, que ya se ve completamente real.
You should build a golf course somewhere in the future.
make a megatall skyscraper
wouldn't it be a good idea to link to, at least, some of the mods you are using in this video?
I liked this map. What's his name to look for in the workshop?
Zou het een leuke uitdaging zijn om na dit Rotterdam na te bouwen (wacht waar leefde je ook alweer)
I hide fire departments within the buildings
Could you maybe release a list with all your props?
I'm looking, I'm looking and I can not find ...
Can anyone help? I am seeking a module through which we can place the buildings as the author in the video? (And yes, I was looking also at his modifications).
I would be grateful for help.
How can you change the elevation at 6:33 ? I have Move it! and i still not found how :/
Yay! You're back :D
I wish you terraformed the islands first then came in and filled them in. Would be easier.
what software is this??? Amazing!!!!
Umm im used to walking in the heat because i live in the Middle East and it feels like an oven
which mods are you using?
Looks awesome
How did you get those color of roads?
man i couldnt believe it i thought u quit
The weather is definitely not realistic im from dubai we get 40-50 most of the year
Nice work man
what LUT do you use?
Isn't the greenery sustainable as long as your desalinization is powered by renewable energy? Solar power is the future for the Middle-East, isn't it?
where are the nightclubs and restaurants, big hotels
Patience my friend ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It's Me i have none
Well then it's time to "Git Gud"
It's Me Git Bed

Shinyyyyy at 2:23
Do you have a asset list?
Can you make a video about mods you use?
his city name is "when the moon hits your eye"
YES
This city is like Dubai
Timelapse is "over 25 minutes long"
Well, the entire video is 25:51 minutes plus the fact that there are 29 seconds of cinematics so far so only 22 seconds left plus there will probably be more cinematics and outro at the end so minus like at least 1 minute meaning that the timelapse is probably NOT over 25 minutes long. FYI I haven't watched the entire vid yet.
You're right, although I ended up cutting off part of the timelapse I had in post because the commentary turned out shorter.
What's your system specs?
are you going to fix the constant traffic clipping through props and pedestrians walking on the same roads as cars? It is really ugging me lol
Finally!
The name of the mod of the roads? :))
18:42 SHARINGAN
I don't really like the idea of carless cities or making it difficult, it really doesn't take into consideration disabled people.
Where's the public services?
Like a big pizza pie!
It looks kind of like Cairo
Amar is a place in Denmark they just spell it Amager
Closer Closets
esta es como un tipo de hermano de dubai?
It is missing a huge airport (like Dubai) and a soccer stadium (arabics love soccer)
