He was the leader of the Catholic Church and the sovereign of the Vatican City State from 2 March 1939 until his death in 1958.
Before his election to the papacy, he served as secretary of the Department of Extraordinary Ecclesiastical Affairs, papal nuncio to Germany, and Cardinal Secretary of State, in which capacity he worked to conclude treaties with European and Latin American nations, such as the Reichskonkordat with Nazi Germany.
After his death, the State of Israel declared him to be a Righteous Gentile, in recognition of the estimated 800,000 Jewish lives he saved.

I'll never understand Sedevacntism from both a canonical and logical standpoint. I mean, Honorious was Pope and he was excommunicated at death at a Council, they didnt claim in the canons that when he lapsed into heresy he lost the papacy and hes still seen as a Pope

I'm a sedevacantist, the reason is there is a distinction between occult (not known) and public (known) heresy, Honorius was an occult heretic, not a public heretic, occult heretics don't lose office or are impeded from office, while public ones like JXXIII are by divine impediment and law
