  • Concert: Vancouver, BC in 2012. Al Harlow (lead guitar, lead vocals), Gary Grace (drums, vocals), Tad Goddard (bass, vocals), Marc Gladstone (keyboard, vocals).
This is an audience bootleg video of the concert, not an official Prism video, although I did ask Prism's permission to post this.
"Take me to the Kaptin" was written by Jim Vallance (jimvalance.com), and was first released on Prism's album "Prism," in 1977. "Take Me to the Kaptin" and "Spaceship Superstar" both diverged from an earlier unreleased song by Jim Vallance.
Filmed by Karl Johanson, using a Canon HD CMOS, which manages decent sound quality & which occasionally picks up the sound of audience members commenting or singing along.
Information about Prism is available at: www.prism.ca
    Lyrics:
The planet dies and no one cries
    So hard to believe
If there was somewhere else to go
You know I'd be the first to leave
I don't mean to sound ungrateful
When I ask him could I stay
Take me to the Kaptin and tell him why I'm here
I want to stay in your world while my world disappears
I had a dream the other night
    And as the dream unfurled
I took a trip in a rocket ship
    And I found another world
They told me about their Kaptin
That I could asked him "Could I stay?"
I said: Take me to the Kaptin and tell him why I'm here
I want to stay in your world while my world disappears
Won't you take me to the Kaptin and tell him why I'm here
I want to stay in your world while my world disappears
    End
The original album release of "Take me to the Kaptin" uses the following lyrics in the intro:
"I don't mean to sound ungrateful
but I'm afraid that I just can't stay"

An absolutely fantastic performance of a classic song from a band that truly deserves to be in the Canadian Music Hall Of Fame. Prism Rocks !!!

Al was playing the Sidney concert with a badly injured sholder, and it still was awesome. The opening act, The Michael Woods Band, played some good music as well.

Nice video. I hope Al Harlow's shoulder is doing better after his mountain bike accident.
