    The inside grooves are not to keep ice from forming. They are to channel water and dirt down and limit what sprays out the sides. If anything, the grooves will promote ice and snow buildup. Lots more surface area to grow on. That said, these are the best flaps on the market. Heavy duty and fit perfectly. Worth every penny.

    Really nice video...This is the sixth mud flap video I've watched this evening. I like these the best. I'm going with the DuraFlap. FYI...no one ever took a few steps back and showed the viewer a good profile of how the flaps appear on their truck, with the entire truck in the frame. I would have enjoyed seeing that. Don't feel bad, though. Like I said, no one else did it either....Thanks again.

    Looks great. Thanks for this video/demo/install. I never liked those molded splash guards...and came across this video.

      Chris DIYer Duraflap is a great company to order from. Their mudflaps are by far some of the most durable flaps out there. Got a set on order for my wife’s explorer.

    Its been 3 years, how are you enjoying them if you still have the vehicle? I just put a leveling kit and bumped up to a 315/70r on my 2010 f150, and I could tell within the first mile of gravel road I was going to need mud flaps. Ive been looking at gator backs, razor backs, and now that I've seen this video ill be looking at duroflaps.
    Are they all the same? Probably. But they all appear to be the best when compared to the wimpy flimsy plastic mud guards.

      I don’t have this truck anymore but I do have these Duraflaps on my current truck. I also had them on my truck prior to the gmc. In my opinion these are some of the best ones on the market especially if you plan to run aggressive tires that’s may kick up stones

    I put these on my truck a couple days ago after watching your vid here. Same flaps, same truck. You're right, the "F" holes on the rears were a minor nuisance, but not bad altogether. I wish the fronts were an inch or so longer though, I worry they won't keep the running bars clean of mud....how are yours doing in that regard?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 5 lety

      GLad to hear you like the Duraflaps!
      My running boards are good but I have since lifted my truck 2.5" in the front and agree, I should have bought the longer flaps.

    • @AimingWanderously
      @AimingWanderously Před 4 lety

      UPDATE, the fronts do not keep the running boards very clean. better than nothing, but I suggest get the longer ones (for lifted truck even if not lifted) if you want to keep 'em clean.

    What size duraflaps did you order? Are you happy with the way they block crap from building up on the running boards?

      Anthony Amato I got the standard length version which hangs about 5” below the fender flare and I couldn’t be happier!

    Installing the DuraFlaps on my '19 2500HD this weekend. Installed the black weights and one weight, aligning the weight's studs with the holes...does not perfectly sit in the recessed groove in the flap. A little annoying for the price....

      Mat Cannava give Duraflap a call, I’m betting they will help resolve the issue.

    These are some of the best flaps out there. What wheels do you have?

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 6 lety

      sav300 those were Method Race “standards.” Sadly Discount tire bought them back because they were rusting after 6 months of use.

      Water Fowler 41 Wow good to know your experience! Good looking wheels but rusting is a not good when spending that kinda coin!

      sav300 upgraded to fuel trophy’s and couldn’t be happier. You can see them in my Dodge Ram mudflaps video around the 13 min mark

    they don't seem to hang very low I thought they should hang down longer to protect a travel trailer for example. Thanks for the video

      These are the normal length flaps, they have extended length for that very reason

    How wide should a mud flap be to the tire, the wider the better? My tires are regular 10". I am hesitating between 12 or 14 wide to protect my trailer who is eating rocks. I read that the recommended length is around 6" to 8" to ground, but have not found anything about how wide.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety +1

      You can always cut the 14” flaps down to 12” if they are too wide.

    • @WaterFowler41
      @WaterFowler41  Před 3 lety +1

      I had to trim my flaps on my Ford and used a Dremel and a straight edge. The flaps are really thick, a utility knife won’t be enough.
